According NBS statistics many Nigeria youth are not just unemployed but also unemployable , remember this is not just about having BSc but also the necessary skills and certifications.
If there are people in that community with right qualification then the oil coy should do the needful

It would be different if there is an employment drive in the communities and the best hands are taken.... No key employment has gone to the communities, the last known employment drive carried out by the coy in Nigeria (by merit) was 2012. But people are employed and sent down here yearly...which community would watch this happen quietly?

I think being calm in Nigeria is a panacea for being taken for a ride.

Their demand is better than ipob or massob own. But really the fact that they are in that environment is not enough basis for demanding to be employed there no matter their qualification. The company own them more on the side of community development, build roads, electricity, water supply, scholarship for students.

Breaking news, the protest has been called off this evening, normal activities resume tomorrow.

No surprises, when ever they are broke, they start protest until they settle them.

Asking them to move their HQ to the region is not a bad one... if you cant have your hq here den quit exploring the resources... Go and explore wherever you have your HQ... At least they have water you can explore d water and export it

You do know that all of Nigeria's exploration has moved overseas now right and that hardly anyone does onshore exploration.

The greedy leaders would have collected money meant for the improvement of community so the company will fill less unconcerned. when you face the leaders, chiefs and the kings the truth will surface. Am sure the IGP is with part of your rights base on the reports of billions of naira in his pocket. We should all be facing our leaders through social media until they commit suicide or runaways in shame.

I wonder what the protest is for? ExxonMobil is in their land and so what?

ExxonMobil is an American multinational oil and gas corporation not even indigenous

Far into the Atlantic ocean. In fact, oil companies airlift their employees to their offshore platforms.

What about all the flow stations and the LNG spread across the N'Delta? The truth is that your envy wont let you ever want the people of the region to gain from the resources from their region and so you just go ahead and give flimsy excuses like you just did.

Envy my foot. Like I could care in the least. I am just stating facts for you because your logic was warped.
