Lagos state geographically belongs to no other than the Yorubas, collectively built by all I.e Portuguese, British etal. Lagos state was discovered by the Aworis originally from the Yoruba tribe while it was dominated by the Binins. The igbos became tenants during 1900s.
Every part of nigeria is collectively built by all including all IGBOLAND.
secondly,Lagos was never dominated by the binis!

We have to refute their lies no matter what. Imagine that useless Anambra governor making claimes that Anambra people own most of the properties in Lagos. What da hell do these people eat? Do you know that Hausa people may have more properties than Ibos in Lagos? but we don't hear Hausa people making noise.

There is no argument. Without the Igbo and only because of the seaport, Lagos could as well just been like Oshogho or Ibadan. For once give it to them, the Igbos, they may not be good politicians but nobody can deny the fact that they are top top capitalist! They are top top business people!
they are just noisemakers, when lies/noise is repeated several time it become truth.study this two threads below objectively dont take nairaland noisemaking/chestbeating as facts!

Finally, all tribes are contributing to the development of Lagos state.

The only sense you made in the long, entirely needless and tribalistic post.

If Enugu were capital of Nigeria, Yorubas will invest and build houses there just like other tribes did in Lagos and now doing in Abuja (Including Yorubas).

Nigerians, please stop hating yourselves! Lagos was built by Nigerian oil wealth and investment from all over Nigeria.

Therefore, no single group can claim they contributed more than others in the Lagos or Abuja project.

And if you are not from Lagos state just keep quite. You can't come from Kwara and be claiming Lagos.

You are not CURRENT then. Please do not bother disturbing Google, simply search NAIRALAND. I read one of their latest claim on nairaland just few days ago. Have you heard about THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF LAGOS? You can google that.
Layi Ajayi-Bembe was the Lagosian Yoruba man who made that claim. He even alleged that he was from Benin. His family came out to debunk his claims. The thread was opened a few days ago on NL. So don't drag the Bini people into your controversy, pls.

Why do you like telling such huge lies? It was your Igbo brothers on that thread that made those allegations, about Benin owning Lagos, after the OP had posted an article about a Lagosian Yoruba man called Layi Ajayi-Bembe making similar claims.

Capital Oil Investments in Lagos owned by Ifeanyi Ubah that pays over 15 billion in taxes and duties a year. Afonja OP, are these owned by multi-nationals, eh Afonja?
Mba nu! Capital Oil has never paid 15 billion naira as taxes and duties, in a single year! sad Must you lie to get your point across? The same Capital Oil that was once taken over by AMCON for failure to meet its' financial obligations? The same Capital Oil that currently owes NNPC over 11 billion naira for diversion of petroleum products from its storage tanks, which led to the sack of the former PPMC Managing Director?

GoldNiagara:
10 Billion Naira taxes and duty yearly ! Lies will eventually kill every single one of you. Cos a company has a building with helipad, then it contributes 50% of igr of Lagos State. Kontinue, the thunder that will strike you, will strike you when doctors will go on strike.
You dey mind am? cheesy If Capital Oil pays 15 billion naira as taxes like he erroneously and deceitfully claimed, how much would Forte Oil and ConOil be paying? Those two companies have fuel stations all over Nigeria, in addition to fuel storage depots/terminals, too.

The same way the Bini who are the original owners of Onitsha do not make claims about the place, right? Or the same way the Igalas who founded Asaba, Ossomala and some other parts of Nsukka do not make claims about those places, not so? Facial marks were prominent among Nsukka people, at one time too.... undecided Your kings in several communities in Enugu state, still obtain their traditional staff of authority from the Attah of Igala. Anyway, wetin concern me? Let me allow the Yoruba people to give you a befitting response to your drivel.

Typical Afonja; very ungrateful. Yeah this 20 billion naira corporate office in the heart of Lagos owned by Nestoil/Obikackson who pays over 10 billion naira in taxes and duties every year is also owned by a multi-national abi? This is the problem with you afonjas; you have zero appreciation for people helping to support you in taxes, money used to pay salaries of your fathers and mothers, whom are 90% civil servants. You are not ashamed you are naming multi-nationals, why not name yoruba companies? You can't because there is non of tangible significance. 99% of companies in Ogun are multi-nationals.
keep ranting like a fool. nestoil is not even top 30 or even 50 if you want to lost companies in Lagos and nestoil doesn't pay 10b in taxes every year. stop exaggerating and making a fool of yourself in the process. a very large chunk of IBO business are spare parts and other small items which contribute very little. Dangote, Otedola, Adenuga and alakija alone pay more taxes in Lagos than all your IBO billionaires put together. you can't count the top10 billionaires in Nigeria and have more than two IBO men. yet you are making wild claims. deal with facts pls and don't make a fool of yourself.

modified tony elumelu and kalu are the only two IBO billionaires in top 10!!! see the attached link.

I repeat again. dangote, Adenuga, otedola, alakija and rabiu pay more taxes to Lagos state than all ibos put together. dangote alone is building a 15b dollars refinery in Lagos and his people are not making mouth. ibos need to grow the fvck up

An Igbo indigene has never been the governor of Lagos state till date, therefore any development happening or has happened in the past should be attributed to Lagos present and past leaders (Yorubas). Lagos development was traced back to Portuguese merchants and British colonialist using Lagos as port and administrative centre before the discovery oil. Lagos has been the most developed land before the era of ground nut pyramid, oil boom and Igbo/Hausa immigrants. Then, the word Nigeria was never in existence.

So how did Igbo built Lagos?
Igbos are known for businesses like clothing shops, spare parts, and other street hawking business. Can these businesses develop Lagos? Yes, they can contribute to the development of Lagos but not the large Chunk of development.
The way Igbo’s are into Spare Part and all, we also have Chinese, Lebanese, Indians traders in Lagos paying tax, yet they are not claiming to be solely developing Lagos.

Tax DSTV, MTN paying to Lagos state per month is more that the tax of 50,000 Igbo traders.

For enlightenment, these are the businesses making Lagos.

MTN, GLO, DSTV, schlumberger, Lever Brothers, Unilevers, Indo foods, FirstBank, GTBANK, TOTAL, Samsung, EKO Hotel, Cocacola and thousands of multinational firms.

With their tax alone, Lagos can develop at its own pace.

Finally, all tribes are contributing to the development of Lagos state. I know some mallams from Kano who have invested Billions in Lagos. Look out for Lagos Bureau de change. I have not seen any Hausa man claiming to built Lagos alone. Yorubas may be the dominating tribe, but Lagos was not built by Yorubas alone.

Yorubas are just beneficiary of the nature of Lagos. Sea, Port and Population.

Have your say.

STOP LAYING EMPHASIS ON LAGOS....

NO CITY IN THE COUNTRY WERE BUILT BY ITS TRIBE ALONE

WHAT WILL YOU SAY ABOUT PH,ENUGU AND KADUNA ESTABLISHED BY BRITAIN?THOSE THREE CITIES HAVR NO TRADITIONAL RULER.

IGBO kept silENT about the three CITIES above and started wailing over lagos with his own Oba and indigenes
