There is a big difference between loosing a war and loosing a battle , in biafra's case the battle had to be stopped to prevent further loss of lives as a result of starvation , and even if Ojukwu lost the battle did he loose to the inept and inefficient Niegrian military or did he loose to the superiority of the combined forces of Britain , Soviet union , Egypt , East Germany , Chad , Sudan , Niger and Cameroon .

i would not say Ojukwu lost the battle or the war to Nigerian military but to britain and its war allies.

Majority of the 3 Million people died becuase of starvation and not be because of fighting skill or strenght of the Nigerian Military , most Generals , ex heads of state of Nigeria are still nursing wounds inflicted on them during the war.
