EternalTruths: Don't mind afonjas, they are jealous that some globalized companies of Igbo majority ownership is richer than Nigeria. Globalized companies of Igbo majority ownership are even richer than the USA, since the USA does not post profits, In fact the USA ran a deficit budget of $552 billion last year so igbos are richer than the whole USA. Pascal Dozie an igbo man is richer than Dangote, richer than Bill Gates and even richer than Solomon. 22 Likes |

wirinet:That mumu won't understand the savage. The FG should,as a matter of national wellbeing, setup a commission to regulate emotions, hates and envy in the SE. It's not easy being left out from the scheme of things hence all this attention-seeking dramas. 1-10 of Africa's richest doesn't feature just one Igbo man inspite of their boasting. If you want to see real-time billionaires,go to Kano. This is a fact yet you won't see dem abokis making mouth like our blodas from the east. Whenever they bring up their jokes, just laugh and nod in agreement at least to have peace of mind because they won't concur to your counter-facts. They are programmed to be deluded. 21 Likes 1 Share |

Is revenue same as Profit after tax. Guy, juxtapose the revenue of Lagos state (Expected budget minus borrowing) with the net profits of those companies. Then you can infer from your observation 6 Likes |

wirinet:ashjay001 gazzy88 walexy100 Is Nigeria richer than Apple, BMW, Tesla, Ford, LG, Samsung etc. When I say some of you are uninformed and refused to properly inform yourselves, you think it is just insults not knowing that it is a fact. A globalized company can be richer than a country. How much does Nigeria makes from oil & gas every year and compare it with what these companies make every year. Take R & D education serious, if you want Nigeria to have globalized companies that can create wealth & good jobs. Go get properly inform before arguing blindly. |

sevenhundred:walexy100 A State can have left over just as a company can have. In the case of a company, it is called Profit In the case of a State, it is called Savings/Reserve. The Profits of those companies are far higher than the Reserves of Lagos State That is what Kettykings and co have being trying to pass along Afonjas should compare the Savings of Apple and Foreign Reserve of Nigeria and tell me which one is higher.? |

Does that make them owners? Hakeem Bello-Osagie was the Chairman of Etisalat Nigeria before he resigned. Did that make him the owner? EternalTruths: I am very confident that Things can really work out for the East, but how can we get banks, Transport Companies , retail businesses to invest in R and D when all they need is to have products financed and delivered to consumers. Retail Giants like Coscharis are already investing in Manufacturing of vehicles in Lagos without consideration to R and D , i think IVM has some R and D component in his business , otherwise he would not have been able to meet the stringent demands of the Air force and Army. Also about your technology , i think part of the research should include how to fund such innovations so that it will not end up at the demo stage |
Re: 5 Nigerian Companies Bigger And Richer Than Lagos and Ogun State by EternalTruths: 11:54am On Jan 04, 2018 |
kettykings: You asked a good question about the financing of R & D which I have proposed a solution on how to finance R & D for our Universities but unfortunately, I have not thought through on how to finance private R & D. I will update you, once I think things through. For now, the only idea I have is to model it according to; 1) BetNaija model 2) Mutual Fund investment model. The problem is, how to convince people that it is more like betting but a better one because if they invest and it works, they will be rewarded handsomely as shareholders and if it fails, their money will be lost forever. It is easy to convince people to invest in a technology when it is about to be industrialized than developed. |
Re: 5 Nigerian Companies Bigger And Richer Than Lagos and Ogun State by EternalTruths: 12:02pm On Jan 04, 2018 |
Kettykings, for now, someone has to be willing to make sacrifice in helping others get their technological ideas into reality and being a shareholder. With the profits realized as a shareholder, help to develop the ideas of other brilliant minds just like JP Morgan. That is the idea that can work for private R & D company You remember how Kennis music singlehandedly developed Nigerian Music industry using AiT station to project plantation boys, Tony telula etc. That is the JP Morgan system |

EternalTruths: Your first value propositions are fine but will CSC allow crowd funding , i read in a thisday publication how they said it is disallowed The Mutula investment fund model might be just be a little too cumbersome for starters . The East Really needs a crowdfunding firm to finnance innovations and inventions |
