Nigerian- Americans are considered one of the most successful immigrants in the US. I bet they would never had attained such heights if they were in Nigeria. Check out the link below.

Very profound. It highlights our success as a people in the US. All we hear (about nigerians in the US) is negative but the article has shown a wonderful side of the story people dont want to talk about because of their "EPILEPTIC PATROTISM".

Thank you very much, i think i will go with Ireland cause i have some relatives there but talking about the school am already in school here in Nigeria am in 100level in UNN, should i finish the remaining three years here and then travel to Dublin for masters or should i abandone this one year in UNN

If you have the opportunity to LEGALLY study in Ireland, do not think TWICE about abandoning your studies in UNN. I have schooled in both Nigeria and the USA and there is no comparison.

I concur with this suggestion as well because in the jungle called Nigeria your matriculation date is known but your convocation date is unknown because of incessant strikes by both academic and non academic staff of various citadel of learning, in the West you know and are guaranteed of your graduation date, he can also do part time student jobs and make side income along with his studies, during my studentship abroad l did student jobs alot and I also volunteered with different NGO's and it paved the way for me to secure a permanent position after my graduation, my manager and other departmental staff recommended me highly for the position that was vacant and I got the job easy peasy without stress, volunteering is a good pathway to getting hired in the West cool

l agree with your position, once you live in paradise and you move to live in hell, you are either burnt or consumed permanently by the inferno, a fish cannot function properly on land, once you put a live fish on land it will die within hours, l agree with everything you posted on this thread, I, sometimes want to respond to few people on here but I feel that I am waiting my time because the sufferings in Nigeria has conditioned many posters to call white black and vice versa, at this stage, l will permanently ignore several posters on here because it is like pouring water on Zuma rock, my position about Nigeria remains the same and I will say it to the dead skeleton president of the jungle called Buhari, Nigeria is dead, rotten, useless, corrupt, and should be auctioned off completely or Western nations should come back and recolonize the jungle because it is 500 behind the rest of the world shocked
Now this is blunt truth that gives low IQ Nigerians mental jaundice .

My cousin from my mother's side moved back to Nigeria from the West, since his arrival, he has not been able to find his feet, he came back with several professional certifications and cash to setup a business, everything went down the drain, as I post this article, he is leaving finally back to the West and he has vowed never ever to step his foot in Nigeria, l don't blame him, Nigeria is beyond redemption, those who have ears should hear, if you are not as rich as Dangote, Otedola and all the useless criminal politicians that have stolen generational wealth in Nigeria, don't dream of coming back to this dead country called Nigeria, , those who want to be patriotic can continue but for me, Nigeria is a useless shithole jungle fit only for pigs to live, nonsense grin
But no be lie.

@american Very insightful thread with valuable informations. I simply understand your views 100%.
My view point is that if you have the slightest opportunity to "MIGRATE LEGALLY", please do. If you hesitate i can say you will most likely regret it.

Change is what they keep shouting and yet the country's situation is nauseating. The country's structure is bound to fail because its foundation is so rooted in corruption and it has eaten deep into its very core.
My grandfather always hope for a better NIGERIA and so are his ancestors but until this day all we do is "HOPE". A hope with no promising future. A structure bent on fraustrating its citizens.
The rich know this and thats why you find out that the children of Otedola, Enemelu and many others are citizens of a developed country in order to secure the future of their children. They dont want there childrens future to be based on uncertainties and the deem future of NIGERIA.

Nigeria will change, things wil get better, be patriotic and help change NIGERIA. i have been hearing these fairy tales since i was born. Too many things to point out of these "FAILED STATE", Let me just rest my case.

Simple truth.

People like you are one of the reasons that Nigeria is the unwholesome mess that it currently is! How can Nigeria change if we keep insisting that Nigeria is heaven on earth?

With reference to the bolded part of your post, you are indeed hypocritical and entitled. You are screaming racial discrimination because a cop only asked you for your ID, then to make matters worse you gave him attitude. Why didn't you just give him the ID? Are you aware that cops also stop white people to ask for their IDs? Weren't you taught basic respect as a child? Or is it because you are in the States that you think you should not respect authority?

For heavens sake if you go to Nigeria and drive in Lagos you will be stopped by police at least once a week. Will you call that discrimination? Even worse when you are stopped by Nigerian police, they will demand for bribe. Has any American cop ever asked for a bribe when he stopped you?

Last time I was in Nigeria, Ojuelegba bus stop to be specific I was stopped by a cop because I was carrying my backpack!! He then demanded to see my phone and the contents of my laptop. I told him he had no right to search my laptop as he had no search warrant. Has any American cop EVER stopped you on the road and demanded to see your laptop??

My advice to you is to be thankful for where you are and stop this inane pissing contest about whether Nigeria is better than America. I love my country but the honest truth is Nigeria is a jungle where nothing works. My prayer is that this would change in our lifetime. However pretending that Nigeria is an awesome country is NOT the way to bring about the change that the country DESPERATELY needs!
Very lovely truth . That guy has the IQ of a rat and his cerebrum is blocked with anti American bias so dont expect him to think well enough. It beats me why he is in America when its obvious he doesnt like Americans. Why not he goes to China instead.
