This is definitely the most ignorant post of the day.

It's called Public Arts/Murals/Urban Arts and many cities even commission pay Mural artists to paint murals and public arts. They have them oin major cities all over the world.

Funny when ignorant people try to sound worldly and intelligent .
If only I didn't do a project here in an European institution about the 'problems' of graffiti I for talk, but keep on.
Graffiti is still regarded as vandalism in European Uraban planning and real estate circles and is still associated with poor areas.
In America for example, you don't find them in gated estates for the well to do, but you find them in poor rundown parts of Brooklyn.
In Germany, cities like Berlin and Bremen have spent loads and loads of cash trying to rid the city off too much graffiti. Of course, there are some areas where street art is sponsored, but they are done by professionals and are usually very artistic and doesn't depicts those shit on the wall as shown by the OP which is not different from vandalism. I won't go further because I don't think you can conceive this problem at all, Lagos is already a chaos.

My sister I looked at those uninformed commenters saying he deserves accolades and a shook my head.

Graffiti/ tags are commonly.used by gang bangers to mark territory off course we have Urban Graffiti artists but thesee are common in developed countries

But to find a government in a third world undeveloped shìthole using graffiti to label.his city and calling it beautification?

I rest my noodles

Please continue eating your noodles! You obviously belong to the noodles generation. Have you actually taking a deep look round the state to see all the graffiti. What the government has done using graffiti is to showcase several features in the state whilst also blending the noodles generations and old schools together. This is a cosmopolitan city, and dynamism is expected. That's why you see the government trying to green up some area, creating parks, introducing state of the art bus terminal, working at creating a seamless transportation medium.

Can you see any graffiti connoting violent or an area of dominance by any thugs? The graffiti are carefully chosen bearing in mind that the youthful populace is very much...I haven't seen anyone complaining about them.

Lagos isn't just for show. Its for excellence. That's why its called centre of excellence.

Street Art // Murals Around the World

2. Falomo Bridge Murals by Polly Alakija

http://blog.bookingsnigeria.com/2018/03/street-art-murals-around-world/

They featured Lagos too.

It is called Murals, not Graffiti.

You need to first understand the difference between the 2 before your next misguided comment.

Oga! You lived in Lagos for 10 years I was born in Lagos and schooled there too. I have been to enough cities in West Africa and Europe to agree with the report! Lagos is a shalanga! Sometimes when I watch YouTube videos and news on Lagos, I just spit in disgust. Even we as a people are very dirty and disorganised. The disorderliness that has become part of the city is quite shameful.

Now, I see where your ignorance, pain and bitterness is coming from.

You are just another bitter, frustrated and disgruntled Lagos hating ipob..

This is just superficial guys. These governors know y'all ain't smart so they do things deliberately so sway you and here you are all falling for it.

An intelligent citizenry will ask:

How much did it cost to our state's coffers?
Was the process of procurement transparent?
Beyond environmental aesthetics, how many more jobs has a state government generated via its policies?
How has tax generated from the increased economy temperature of the state affected on health care, education and basic infrastructure?

If we don't discuss the real issues, our as a society will remain bleak

Lagos state is the second largest employer of labor in Nigeria and Lagos state has the lowest employment rate in Nigeria.

Lagos state created N25 billion Lagos State Employment Trust Fund to create jobs and boost small-scale business activities. 1,400 Lagosians benefited from the scheme in 2017.

Lagos state established 30 skills acquisition centers specifically designed to pass out job creating skills and thousands of graduates collecting small business loans to start their own businesses.

Funny when ignorant people with zero knowledge about Lagos state try to sound smart but end up sounding clueless and ignorant.

Even with environmental aesthetics, is it not job creation or you think they did not hire and pay people to beautify the environment and the people they hire didn't collect paychecks to feed their families with or to send their children to school or they didn't go to the market to spend the money and keep the money in circulation for other people to grow and create more jobs for other people.?

I just wonder why many of you care less about your own villages and never demand or question your own village governors same way you try to kill yourselves over Lagos.

Ignorant mind with zero knowledge lol
Those who see it see it

Just like in the Animal farm, Squeaky, throws figures around as to how Napoleon is running things, and like the sheep you mutter mindlessly "four legs good two legs bad"

"Go and question your village Governor....."

Nigerians like you are the problem with this potentially great nation.

I took a general swipe on all the governors not just Lagos and you jump blindly on your tribalist donkey to wage the usual shallow minded stinking Nairaland e-wars

How many businesses that have come from all the schemes you have listed are shaping the economic landscape of Lagos?

For how long shall we applauding projects that can not change our collective futures?.....

Anyone who questions the governor of a state where he pays taxes is an enemy of that state because only an indigene is qualified to question the governor.

Tribalism is a disease suffered only by narrow minds, who don't yet realise that we can achieve exponentially more together.

Unfortunately this is the cesspit y'all is turning Nairaland to.

This is simply why I can't even talk to y'all. Everyday gibbering hateful words like afonja, brown roof republic, pigs, potopoto republic, IPOB etc...

It only shows the hate in your heart for a fellow human being based by the tribe rather than the content of their character and later y'all be shouting the whites for racism.
