Jesus Christ is known as the Lamb of God who is slain for the forgiveness of the sins of mankind. Even John the Baptist mad ethe same statement as seen below.

John 1:29

Even in 1 Peter 1:18-19

18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life you inherited from your forefathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or spot.


What this means is that the sacrifice of animals as done in the past right from the days of Abraham, Moses, Elijah and down to the point Jesus was crucified has seized to be accepted by God because He has given His Son Jesus Christ as the perfect sacrifice. Now, we don't have to kill animals to beg for forgiveness. All we have to do is go through Jesus who was sacrificed for our sins.

As for the Jews, they rejected Jesus Christ. This means that they still cling to the old ways of doing things. They rejected God's new way of doing things. The reason why they are not still practicing animal sacrifice now is because their is no temple for them to do that. The place where their temple was in Jerusalem has been taken over by Muslims who built a Mosque on it. The moment they take over that site and build the temple, then the animal sacrifice will resume. That is what will anger God cos they have totally proven that they do not accept the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ. That is when He will allow their enemies the Muslims to invade them just to punish them.
