NOTICE:

There have been questions regarding whether or not there will be a FEDERAL public holiday on June 12, 2018.

The answer is NO.

Presidential Order says June 12 “in FUTURE YEARS will replace May 29th as a National Public Holiday in celebration of Nigeria Democracy Day.”

Some one should clear me on this:

What if he loses the election next year, can the new president cancel June 12?

Buhari don dey press their button.

The next June 12th is in 2019, when he new government is in power. If Buhari is re-elected and sworn in on 29th May, he can chose to set that aside.

The Spirit of Nigerian Democracy is seen when a democratically elected President transits power to a newly elected president.

If we hand over democratic government on 29th May, what again are we celebrating on the 12th June.

A Gazette is not Act of Parliament, one Executive Order can set it aside.

If Buhari is serious, he should send a bill to the National Assembly and formally institutionalize that.

But if he fails to do that, any President can set that aside.

How many Executive Orders did Trump cancelled. If ObamaCare is a product of an Executive Order, Trump would have cancelled that since ages.

Afonja, they gave you all something to cheer and at same time spit on your faces, the intentions of the dullard are not to be overlooked, think wisely, if you like say it's because the VP Osinbade is from the west, sorry for you, in the next four years if he wins, y'all would forever regret your decisions ,Nigeria will never remain the same again, get your visa and look for a calm European country to hide your shame
