#Breaking: Suswam Arrested By DSS In Connection With Benue Killings By Abdullahi Musa - June 20, 2018 The former Governor of Benue, Gabriel Suswam has been picked up by the DSS in connection with the killings in his home state of Benue. A source tells Voice of Liberty that the former Governor has a case to answer as evidence has directly linked him to some of the suspects. According to the source “the boys perpetrating these gruesome murders are sponsored by Politicians in order to undermine the current Government.” Voice of Liberty was unable to get through to the DSS to confirm or deny this development. Army bombards criminal gang hideout Meanwhile, in another development the hide out of the most wanted criminal suspect in Benue State, Terwase Aguazer alias Gana who is linked to several killings in the State has been bombarded by the army, some of his gang members attested while one of them confessed to the killing of the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ortom on special security Deneen Igbana last two years. Killings: 182 suspects arrested in Benue, Taraba, Kaduna April 18, 2018 About 182 suspects were arrested in Benue, Taraba and Kaduna states during the conduct of “Exercise Ayem Akpatuma’’ by the Nigerian Army in the three states and three others. The Director, Defence Information (DDI), John Agim, announced the figure, while giving an update on the just- concluded exercise which also covered Nasarawa, Niger and Kogi states. Benue killings: Police arrest mastermind, 3 others The Police have arrested four principal suspects in the New Year day and subsequent killings in Benue State. Police also arrested those in Possession Of AK-47 rifles and other prohibited arms. The four principal suspects were arrested in Tunga town, in Nasarawa State, between February 16-19, 2018 by the Intelligence Response Team of the Force. The suspects were arrested in connection with the killing of Sgt. Solomon Dung and other police officers and others in Benue state. According to the police, the suspects are: Alhaji Laggi (40 years); who was described as mastermind and gang-leader of the herdsmen group, Mallam Mumini Abdullahi (34 years; Muhammed Adamu (30 years) and Ibrahim Sule (32 years). The team was led by the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations, Habila Joshak. The suspects reportedly confessed to the killings and mentioned gang members in possession of police rifles they took from the slain police officers and others in possession of arms. Serious follow-up, the police said, in progress in Benue, Nsarawa and Taraba states. Benue killings: Police prosecute 188 herdsmen over anti-grazing law, others on June 5, 2018 By Ameh Comrade Godwin Police in Benue State have declared that 188 persons are currently facing prosecution over the anti-open grazing law in the state. The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, also confirmed that another 61 armed bandits associated with killings are facing trial. Owoseni, who addressed newsmen on Tuesday in Makurdi, the Benue capital, further revealed that aside of herdsmen attacks, there were other noticeable crimes such as robbery, communal clashes, and cultism across the state. The police boss said that 30 suspects were arrested in connection with cult-related activities within the last one month. He said that there were rising cases of communal clashes in Konshisha, Apa and Agatu Local Government Areas of the state. He added that over 100 thatched houses were set ablaze last week during a communal clash between Ugamba and Mbamar villages in Konshisha Local Government Area. In the case of armed robbery, Owoseni said that “Fourteen (14) suspects were arrested in the last one month with thirteen (13) different types of prohibited firearms comprise of four AK47 riffles; 23 locally made riffles were recovered from them. “The locally made riffles manufactured in the state were fabricated in such a way that they use AK47 ammunitions. “In Sankara axis, 17 armed robbery suspects were arrested, armed robbery and abduction in this axis are attributed to Terwase Akwaza popularly known as ‘Gana’ who has been dominating crime in the area.” http://dailypost.ng/2018/06/05/benue-killings-police-prosecute-188-herdsmen-anti-grazing-law-others/ 1 Like 1 Share |
