Typical of Nollywood!

The directors and board would continue to splash out money all over the place like bunch of mugus.

And then when it's time to use that money to produce great movies, they fail!
Why are they slamming this fee on foreign actors?

How in the world has all those foreign actors that all over the place in the industry made an impact?

Hmmm, mama gee deprecating The Amaka, interesting state of affairs.

Back to the topic. What's all this big brother crap.Oh it's ok for Ghana to slam a fee on Nigerian actors 'yea it's just ghana so no probs' but not so for Nigeria   We're Africa's big brother and should remain so-'let's just ignore them'.How far has that gotten us.

Nigerian Film Producers and Nollywood should be striving to match the achievements of the Indians and Bollywood. Take a look at the website below. It is owned by a Indian Film Producer, Shekhar Kapur.  Kapur is a great thinker and producer.

this is very stupid, its not a competition, laws are meant to be made to support the people and not spite other nations! How did you guys feel when Nigeria was put on a terror list? simply because Nigeria had more problems to deal with than a haywire pant bomber at the time!
How many ghanian actors work in nigeria anyways? so who will really suffer from this? Nollywoods board gets a little too exited they need to pipe down! Gollywood had a very good reason for what they did, there were too many Nigerians immigrating and its not fair on the indigenes, nollywod is just being childish!

This has to be dumbest criticism i have read since i joined NL.So it's ok for gollywood to slam a fee on nigerians in order to protect their movie industry from 'Nigerian immigrants' but not so for Nigeria. Is that what you refer to as an intelligent debate?

It doesnt sound to me like you have much sense yourself, Nollywood has no solid reason for this imposition! Gollywood does! you seem to be having that same childish superiority complex the fools running nollywood have, whats the percentage of nigerian actors in gollywood? whats the percentage of gollywood actors in nigeria? whose industry more popular? whose industry still needs more time and its own people to develop? which countries citizens are migrating to where because of bans imposed on them by thier own countries? please use your common sense!

my fiance is ghananian  and we had fought over this issue several times , i love him but i am proudly nigerian. these ghananians need to know we nigerians are master any time. the battle just begins.the ghananians envy nigerians a lot even at place of work here in london . nollywood is greater and greater in africa.

years back i never knew some actors and actresses that featured in nigerian movies were ghananians untill recently; now they want to bite the fingers that fed them. make we dey carry dey go now.

Shallom!!!
Re: Nollywood Slams N250,000 Clearance Fee On Foreign Actors by Okijajuju1(m): 11:36pm On Jul 26, 2010
This is bullshit.

Both the Ghanaians and Nigerians need to stop this bullshit.

Both "industries" put out terrible movies. These laws being enacted wouldnt profit neither of them nothing. I blame the Ghanaians for starting this war, but then again, you wouldnt really blame them cos Nigerians are taking over their market. Ghana has come out with its version of Aki & Paw-paw, yet their version dont measure with the Nigerian version.

In the end, this will not profit neither side. Ghana will loose one of the biggest markets in the sub-region which would partronize it movies in terms of language, and Nigeria would loose Ghana which is like a small market, but all the same a good one.

I think the Nigerian-Ghanaian rivalry esp from the Ghanaian side is getting out of hand.

A Ghanaian guy was dating an African American chic and he once beat the girl and Instead of him to admit his fault, he told the girl she was lucky because if it were to be a Nigerian guy, the beating would have been worse.

There was also a beauty pageant amongst African girls and the winner on facebook was like "I won despite contesting against 11 Naija people"
Re: Nollywood Slams N250,000 Clearance Fee On Foreign Actors by Nobody: 11:42pm On Jul 26, 2010
My Nigerian brethen, I think this Ghana vs Nigeria comparisons has gotten out of hand.  It does nothing but make the Ghanaians ecstatic, it is like an opium for many Ghanaian. Several months ago, I was walking in downtown Calgary (Canada) with a Caucasian friend. As we were walking by a Bus stop, we bumped into a Ghanaian man who happened to be her acquaintance. She went ahead to introduce us, but before we could finish exchanging compliments , and as soon as I told him I was Nigerian, he quickly interrupted, asking me whether I was aware that his country too now has oil in commercial quantities. My friend and I were speechless for a moment - thinking how on earth could a mature adult be so childish and stupid - I calmly wished him good luck , and quickly changed the subject before he embarrasses himself any further.

Ghanaians often have low self-esteem and seek for attention whenever they find themselves in the midst of Nigerians, and whenever matters concerning Nigeria is being discussed. However, I don't blame them, because when a dwarf finds him/herself in the midst of a giant, its very hard not to feel insecure.

My brethen, comparing Ghana to Lagos state, I think is more than just enough. Anything further than that is a consolation for many Ghanaians and an insult to your country men/women.

When the girl told me that the Ghanaian guy once told him that Naija men are worse, i was thinking this is the height of paranoia.

The guys especially beef Naija guys seriously because some of their girls prefer Naija guys.

During the World cup it was almost unbearable cos for every statement they made about the Ghanaian team, they must reference it to the Nigerian team.

I remember we were watching a World cup game by a Poolside and a Ghanaian girl came to me that "Mr Nigeria Do you mind going with me to the bar and lets get some drinks", The Ghanaian guys just retorted and brought out condoms like "Go and f-u-ck him already, Naija guys hooker"

It was soo funny because she too started talking back at them and I was just laughing hard.

@Mr Zebra or whatever you call yourself, this is for you:

Reciprocity (international relations)

In international relations and treaties, the principle of reciprocity states that favours, benefits, or penalties that are granted by one state to the citizens or legal entities of another, should be returned in kind.

For example, reciprocity has been used in the reduction of tariffs, the grant of copyrights to foreign authors, the mutual recognition and enforcement of judgments, and the relaxation of travel restrictions and visa requirements.

The principle of reciprocity also governs agreements on extradition.

If for some reason this a little difficult for you to comprehend cuz i understand not everyone is good at grasping comprehension let me just summarise it for you thus; Always base your decisions on a rational analysis of the hard facts. & not this your pedestrian kind of argument coming from a one-track mind full of pariochial thoughts.kapish?
