Yar’adua’s Daughter Inaugurated As Special Adviser ! by wales(m): 6:30am On Aug 03, 2010
The daughter of late President Umaru Yar’Adua, Hajiya Maryam Yar’Adua, and three others, were on Monday inaugurated as special advisers to Governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State.

Maryam was inaugurated as Special Adviser on Inter-Governmental Affairs, while Halilu Yahaya, Aminu Ibrahim and Rabi’u Ruma were inaugurated as Special Advisers, Special Duties, Environment and Resources Development respectively.

Also inaugurated were the new Commissioner for Works, Mr Musa Na-shuni, and the Chairman of Bakori Local Government Council, Alhaji Aminu Magaji.

Speaking while inaugurating the appointees in Katsina, Shema advised them to take their appointments as a challenge to move the state forward.

He said their appointments were based on merit and they should protect the confidence reposed in them by the administration by contributing to the development of the state.

``Fear Allah and be fair and just in whatever you do in discharging your responsibilities,‘‘ Shema advised.

The governor prayed to God to guide the new appointees in their duties.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the appointment of Mr Musa Na-shuni as Works and Housing Commissioner followed the appointment of the former Commissioner, Mr Musa Sada, as the Minister of Mines and Steel Development.

As a member of the  most powerful ruling family (the Yar'aduas ) in the country, and being the daughter of an ex-president, a Special Adviser position is really a small piece of cake. grin

Nigeria is the greatest city when it comes to recycling. A country where laws are in a place to ensure that wastage is eliminated not even 0.1 % waste is allowed. Eat your hearts out U.S or U.K our records speak for it self. Who could have thought such monumental records could be achieved by a country rated third world or developing country. We have all kinds of waste separation boxes where we store thrash only to use in the future.

Ps

Obj was eco friendly and was recycled. The next is IBB

I love this country.

Nice one. If the past and present leaders themselves are not recycled their accomplices are who are all too ready to do their bidding.

Nigeria's democracy will soon be turned into constitutional monarchy

. . . . .  and this monarchy will consist of quite a number of families! grin . . . . . .  with one family having the prime ministership for life and some families MP's . . . . . . .  some families will get completely wiped out in the scramble for positions. . . . . . sorry, there's too many families in politics already. It won't work!  cheesy  cheesy

You know what? I think politically speaking, Nigeria is at the level of medieval Europe as far as political development and general mentality is concerned. Then, the had rigid hierarchical class systems, same in Nigeria today. You had the Royals at the top, the nobles, the serfs etc. Even then, a serf could rise to be a noble but the chances were slim and this individual would face mockery from peers with "noble blood"

Nigeria is an epitome of "REVOLVING DOOR" politics:

Musa Yar'adua- Minister of Lagos Affairs, first republic
Shehu Musa Yar'adua- Chief of Staff, Supreme headquarters, effectively vice president (his dad was minister)
Umaru Musa Yar'adua- Governor then President of Nigeria- (his blood brother was vice president)
Murtala Shehu Yar'adua- Minister of state, Defense (his father was vice president)

A governor today is a senator tomorrow and vice versa, the door keeps revolving!!!
Some people just have it in their blood, to rule is simply in the blood!!!
There are many examples of families all interconnected or siblings who are all in top positions in the country!

^^these are matters of national interests that concerns the lives of more than 20million people. This is not a play thing. Or should they also consider me for Technology Minister because its my birthday?

why are they just recycling and picking the same ppl. Are they saying no one else apart from this same sect can handle these responsibilities? What is good about this?
