Atiku's corrupt case history demonstrates how, over an eight-year period from 2000 to 2008, Ms. Douglas and Mr. Abubakar were able to bring over $40 million in suspect funds into the United States, primarily through wire transfers sent by offshore corporations. Over this time period, Ms. Douglas opened over 30 accounts at U.S. banks, most of which were unaware of her PEP status due to incomplete PEP lists maintained by third party vendors and inadequate due diligence procedures. In one case, a bank failed to document her PEP status even after being told of her marriage to the former Vice President of Nigeria. In two instances, Ms. Douglas used her U.S. legal counsel, Mr. Weidenfeld, to help convince a bank to open an account. At each bank where she opened an account, she described herself as unemployed or a student, soon began receiving large wire transfers from offshore corporations, and explained when asked that she had little or no information about the companies sending her money, but believed the funds were being sent by her husband. At first, U.S. banks accepted this explanation and allowed Ms. Douglas to bring nearly $25 million over eight years into the United States.

Over the last year, Mr. Weidenfeld accepted at least another $2.1 million in wire transfers from an unfamiliar offshore corporation, with no questions asked. Over five years, American University accepted $14 million.

In each case, the bank, law firm, or university was told it was receiving funds from
Mr. Abubakar. Mr. Abubakar is a complex figure in Nigerian politics. His 20-year career in the Nigerian Customs Service, 10-year stint as a private businessman, and 8-year tenure as Vice President of Nigeria, are difficult to evaluate, especially in a country plagued by corruption.

His founding of Intels while a Customs official, the company’s association with powerful government officials, and its increasing economic profile, raise questions about the basis for the company’s success. Mr. Abubakar’s quiet exchange of Intels shares for Orlean shares in 2003; his use of Orlean and then a shell company associated with Mr. Volpi to run his allegedly Blind Trust; and the millions of dollars sent by corporations associated with Mr. Volpi to Douglas- related accounts in the United States, raise a host of questions about the nature and source of Mr. Abubakar’s wealth. An allegation by the SEC that Ms. Douglas received over $2 million in bribe payments from Siemens AG, intended in part for her husband, also cannot be dismissed.

What is okay? mtcheew !!!

Buhari lacks integrity because he is a custodian of corruption. He who harbours a murderer is also a murderer,he who harbours a thief is also a thief.

Re: Corruption: Atiku Lists 30 Accused Persons Working For Buhari by Olavic7(m): 6:56am On Jan 21, 2019
My take on why Atiku refused to go ahead with the debate.

Atiku is not a dumb politician and by no means should anyone assume him to be.
APC had only one leverage against Atiku and that is the fact that Atiku cannot go to the United States of America because he's corrupt and for him to prove that he is not corrupt he must visit America.

APC seeing Atiku in America, that leverage they had is gone so they thought that Atiku coming back to Nigeria today will be so desperate to attend the debate with or without Buhari so he can win more votes from the electorates.

Of course APC knows very well that the success of Atiku in the debate depends solely on the performance of Buhari regardless of the the performance of other candidates and it was very crystal clear that Buhari was gonna perform woefully to the advantage of Atiku so they decided to withheld Buhari from coming, besides, Buhari's recent outings at the town hall meeting organized by NTA and his blunders in Delta state has been a disaster.

Everybody knows that Atiku doesn't stand a chance against the likes of Obi Ezekwezili, Kingsley Mughalo and Fela Durotoye. These are young people who are very current with the trends in the world and they would have flawed Atiku to the advantage of Buhari hence giving APC the chance to come up with an excuse to justify Buhari's absence from the debate. The reason why APC has no tangible excuse for Buhari's absence from the debate is because Atiku decided not to continue with the debate.

Atiku on the other hand is a smart and seasoned politician in his own right. He's surrounded himself with the best brains you could ever think of in Nigerian politics. He opted not to debate because he has no leverage against the other candidates. None of their political parties have been in power before, making it hard for Atiku to have a single point against them.

Atiku knows that APC will capitalize on any of his shortcomings in the debate and will use those shortcomings to campaign against him while giving a perfect excuse why Buhari stayed back from the debate so he decided not to debate without Buhari. Smart moves there from the Waziri Adamawa.

Lately it seems there are no lapses on Atiku's camp while Buhari's camp has had so many lapses recently and the APC are looking for a very small openings from the camp of Atiku to capitalize on and it seems Atiku is not gonna let them get that chance.

With due respect to Madam Ezekwezili, Mr Mughalo and Durotoye, they are all fine and intelligent people but Nigerian politics goes way beyond intelligence, it's requires capacity, arithmetics, power and structures and none of their political parties can afford these pre-requisites that is why they stand no chance against Atiku and Buhari.

Currently, Atiku is the only person that can match Buhari party for party, capacity for capacity, power for power, money for money and structure for structure and a least mistake from Atiku could give victory to Buhari on a platter of Gold

Atiku is trying fruitlessly to tell Nigerians that we are all the same (corrupt).
The question we should ask him Atiku is that is any one of the aforementioned individual contesting for the president like him?
Our focus now is on our presidential aspirants.
