It's obvious the op is regugitating beer room gossip.

In the CCB form, there is a portion that allows you fill other sources of income from shares & other investments.

So, a government workers can have other investments as long as he is not involved in the day to day running of such business nor is there a clash of interest.

The problem here is that it’s generally accepted that once you are a civil servant then you destined to die poor.

Without holding brief for the suspended CJN, buharideens specialise in regugitating propaganda by using half truths.

It's just that so many people are scared of the vindictive wrath of PMB, if not, this CCB thing the tyrant is toying with should ordinarily consume him.

The tyrant didn't declare the assets of his wife & kids over 18 or who are not working and/or still in school.

That is a breach of the CCB regulation. But the CCB is blocking access to the form which would serve as concrete evidence (though I heard another form has been filled, don't know how true that is).

Meanwhile, onnoghen's form was scrutinized by a private NGO that didn't even submit a FOI request.

you can't answer question with question. your answer should be either yes or no. simple. it was also stated participate or engage? if a cab man drives a thief to steal without knowing the thief stole or not, would the cab man be deem to have participated in the stealing? no. what if the cab knew the thief is going to steal? can we then say he participated? yes. as an investor he knew what is money would be used for so he as participated in the business process. simple

This supports the fact they are only fighting opposition, and not corruption.

No need arguing further with you.I wonder where you read judges should not participate on investments.Or where i claimed he didn't know what the investment was all about. You are missing the point completely

Some have argued that section 3 (d) of the code of conduct bureau and Tribunal act exonerate the suspended CJN Justice Walter Onnoghen from his present trial however going by his statement to the CCB it could be clearly seen that section 6 (b) of the same act indicts him assuming without conceding that he is exonerated by section 3 of the act.

According to section 6 of the CCB ACT...

Restrictions on specified officers:

Without prejudice to the generality of section 5 of this Act, A PUBLIC OFFICER SHALL NOT

(a) Receive or be paid the emoluments of any public office at the same time as he receives or is paid the emoluments of any other public office; or

(b) Except where he is not employed on full-time basis, engage or participate in the management or running of any private business, profession or trade; but nothing in this paragraph shall prevent a public officer from engaging in farming or participating in the management or running of any farm.

http://lawnigeria.com/LawsoftheFederation/CODE-OF-CONDUCT-BUREAU-AND-TRIBUNAL-ACT.html

Now according to Justice Walter Onnoghen's response statement to the CCB he said and I quote

https://www.nairaland.com/4995693/onnoghens-response-code-conduct-bureau

Therefore, going by Justice Onnoghen own admission of engaging in other businesses such Forex trading, AGRICODE (what ever that means) and investments which is prohibited by section 6(b) of the act i think it would be easier for the camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for CCT to free Justice Onnoghen at the end of his trial.

Finally, could be the realisation of this very fact that his legion of SAN'S are now looking for a soft landing for him as reported in the Punch Newspaper of Today? Could it also be the reason why the CCT Chairman, Justice Danladi is not bothered about his earlier rulings?

Do you have a problem with comprehension?

Participate in the RUNNING or MANAGEMENT.....

What is so difficult there for you to comprehend? Did he say he was running or managing any of those companies?

We expect the process of convicting corrupt individuals to be followed without fear or favor.

We hereby call on Mr Mohomodu Buhary to immediately order CCB to relase the requested assets declaration forms of his appointees.

Thank you

Throw in a red herring just to distract from the fact that the man you've been protesting on his behalf is actually guilty.

It's a stale ploy.

Lol, your foolishness is irredeemable. 'engage or participate' there is the VERB. 'the management or running of a private business' is the OBJECT. If you did English in school, you should understand where you ere in comprehending what the act says.

Dear OP when you read, read with your head on. the section 6(b) you're stressing on says; A Public Officer Shall Not
"Except where he is not employed on full-time basis, Engage or Participate in the MANAGEMENT OR RUNNING of any private business, profession or trade; but nothing in this paragraph shall prevent a public officer from engaging in farming or participating in the management or running of any farm.

A public officer is not denied the right to invest in a business or trade. Learn before you Lament.!

If this is the way the law is then all government officials especially the big ones are corrupt n should be dealt with without exception,I still main that onnoghen's case is purely political.so the only business government officials can n should do is farming!,ok can't can't their spouses or children engage in any other businesses too?,na waoh!.
