forget the bride price thingy. It's the cost of the traditional item that makes people complain about certain tribe, not bride price. Some family can bill you 10naira as bride price and give a list worth 1m naira. Other families can tell u to pay bride price of 30k and give you traditional list of 130k.

I believe wedding/marriage ceremony shouldn't take away all your life savings. Plan base on what you have because I wouldn't support any man who would want to borrow money for wedding.

Whenever a girl child is getting married in my husband's family, they carry all the load, claiming it is the wife family that is doing wedding, the man doesnt spend shishi. This amazes me, some still return to ask for money from hubby to set them up. Am like, this tradition is nonsense.

How I wish I am allowed to do a 30 audience wedding, where we will have 15 people from wife side and 15 people from my side. I see gathering crowd as a form of wasting available resources thou it is not all about the food but I hate publicity.

I know of someone who did his church wedding with an audience of less that 6 people, money dey wella but he did it that way cos of reasons best known to him.

The budget seems okay enough. I think you can knock off some thousands from the decortaion(say 50k). You should be able to get someone that will do that In Ijebu for say a 100k. You can also knock off about 10k from the Dj's fees. You can knock out about 30k from the food as well with a good bargain. You should be able to get a good photographer around that axis for about 80k- 100k maximum. With this, you will knock off 50k +10k +30k +10k = 100k.
