Before you shout I am poor, immediately after the wedding, I opened a clothing shop for my wife with 800,000. I started my PhD immediately after the marriage. My wife has also started her master degree. I have bought land and developing it now. We married 2017.

I can't waste money on what is not going to bring income. My inlaws told me to do what I can afford that time since I was a master student then. So I reduced everything to the extent that I have over a million after the marriage.

Low key is the best.... My husband spend 1.1 for our wedding 2016... What amount to 1.1 was the wardrobe he changed for me... New set of box, clothes(Holland wrappers ,george and lace) and shoes.
170k for items requested by my family and live goat was presented to my in-laws.

Not all IBO's are like that. My wife's family actually collected #1000 and redistributed it to my family.
The bride price may be small, the huge spending comes from the list and perhaps entertainment.
