Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa has recused herself from the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.

The People's democratic party had asked Justice Bulkachuwa to recuse herself because she is married to a senator-elect of the All Progressives Congress.

Counsel to Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the PDP, Livy Ozuokwu asked the Chairman of the tribunal to recuse herself on the grounds that she will be biased in the case.

On Wednesday, Justice Bulkachuwa recused herself after a prolonged sitting.

More to come.

Case closed, PDP should find another excuse. She even recused herself voluntarily, the other judges on the panel dismissed the petition. If she had any hidden agenda, she would have stayed on the trial since the petition was dismissed. PDP are just holding on to straws.

The pressure from PDP later paid off. You can't be a judge in a case between your family members and the opponents.
Justice in such case can never be seen as justice.

Doesn't matter much. The Appeal Court is compromised and hopeless, so they will queue behind Buhari.

No time for their shenanigans.

Atiku is coming, but it is the Supreme Court that will usher him in.

It may not but it is necessary. Justice Mary Odili rescued herself voluntarily in Wike Vs Peterside case because she's married to a Rivers State PDP chieftain

PDP, just scored an own goal, the next replacement would come from APC's camp and should the case get to supreme court Justice Mary Odili would have to be benched without replacement
