Even though he wasted the lives of many Igbos through his admittance of untrained men into the Biafra Army

It was his bravery that made him declare Biafra against all odds, even though it was unwise of him to declare Biafra at that particular time.

Even though he absconded Ojukwu was a brave man to have declared war against a whole sovereign State by declaring Biafra.

Note: I am a proud Afonja and I say this without remorse or fear

Did Biafra and Ojukwu not fight the combined forces of Nigeria, Britain, USA, Russia, Canada, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc for three good years?

Firstly, Ojukwu did not call for war, it was Nigeria that brought war to Ojukwu.

Secondly, it is not an act of bravery to allow your enemy slaughter you like a Chicken, it is an act of stupidity

If a Soldier has given it a good fight but canot continue, the only thing left is tactical withdrawal. There is no point for a Soldier to wait for the enemy to come and kill him when he has an escape route.

Ojukwu gave it a good fight for 3 years and when he could not continue, he left. This idea that Ojukwu should have stayed and allowed Nigerian Soldiers to use him for target practice, so as to prove that he is brave, is one of the most foolish things I have ever heard.
so it's bravery to caused the death of 3million children and when it comes to you to show same sacrifice by dieing for for ur people, u ran away with women clothes

Ojukwu was the worst coward ever recruited into the army. It's a shameful thing that a man that ran away from the battle wearing women clothes is been considered a brave man.

And why did Ojukwu's brave enemies need the support of USA, Britain, Canada, Russia, Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia etc just to face Ojukwu in the first place? grin

In other words, the so-called world powers needed to combine forces in order to face the republic of Biafra.

Long live the memory of Ikemba Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu.
Long live Biafra.

Yorubas and other tribes don't understand the manner of bravery required for a man to lead his people to secede from a big nation backed by western powers!

Ojukwu remains the bravest Nigerian soldier dead or alive!!

No other Nigerian can dare it, I mean none!!

After Ojukwu comes Maj. Kaduna Nzeogwu, Maj. Okar, Col. Fajuyi, and maybe others can follow

Which Ojukwu are we talking about here?
Is it the same Ojukwu that ran away to Ivory Coast when the heat became too much for Biafra?
Is it the same Ojukwu that led millions of Igbo people to their untimely death and ran away to Ivory Coast ?
How can Ojukwu be brave?
Please stop insulting our collective intelligence as a nation.
Ojukwu was a big coward, so is Nnamdi Kanu.
Ojukwu on a sick bed is greater than all your ancestors and oduduwa combined

Funny how the Igbo leaders are always fighting and running away, from Ojukwu to Kanu.
Think twice before you follow a coward blindly and lose your life for nothing.

The part in bold is stupidity and not bravery. You don’t declare a war you’re not adequately prepared for. You don’t substitute bluff for bullets when people’s lives are involved.

So to you, bravery is when someone ran for something he actually signed for? undecided

Ojukwu signed for death, I don't think he should have run when he called for civil war. He just wasted 2million souls and flee without looking back. cry
should we also call those sodiers that (retreated)fleed to cameroun do to boko haram attack cowards?

None of the three can be described as brave. Ojukwu is worse. That name should not be used in a sentence with bravery. Go and research those that fought the civil war. Adekunle led the 3rd marine commandos from the war front. Alabi Isama led the Fed troops from Calabar to take over Port Harcourt in a journey of over 400km on foot. Alani Akinrinade led the operation pincer2 to take over Uli and end the war.

That's the real definition of coward!

Adekunle, Akinrinade and co needed the heavy support of Russia, USA, Britain, Canada, Egypt , Saudi Arabia etc so that they could face Biafra grin

Eventually, Adekunle lived and died in Surulere, 99% of his neighbors being Igbos grin

We are saying the same thing my nigga. Ojukwu fought and defeated the Britain , Russian former Soviet Union, Canada, Saudi, Iraq, Nigeria, Congo Republic and the rest of the world with a catapult and axes imported from old Enugu/ Onitsha road. Even Germany with their high technology had to beg Ojukwu and his foot soldiers not to encroach the German territory at the advance stage of the war

Ojukwu dying for his people would have added no value to the lives of his people, it would have only given Nigeria sweet victory. Ojukwus people wanted independence and freedom and Ojukwu led them in a fight for freedom. Ojukwu may have failed, millions of souls were lost, but there is no shame or regret in fighting for freedom. Fighting for freedom is one of the few things in life worth fighting and dying for.
