kotv: We take the property value rights for ourselves but you take the bragging rights. It's balanced! If you locate an Innoson plant here we will allow you brag that you developed Ogun. It's fair. 1 Like |

Anambralstson: Anambra Last Son...stop spamming Return to classroom and learn about market and optimization. Where does Ejison gets his wine? Does he have vines in Onitsha, or does he import them? ...tell us what we don't know, perharps he just mix water and some canned fruit juice to produce these wines, ehh? If he imports them they come through Lagos, his distribution center in Onitsha not withstanding. So unless he has large distribution point very close to Lagos ports, Ejison is under-optimized. Innoson can cut cost by having his major operation very close to ports in Lagos to optimize his brand. 1 Like |

I think Innoson wont grow with its factory located at Nnewi. As it is, they are probably running extremely high costs they probably dont have the managerial competence to track. Trouble comes when a company with the same business model challenges them nationally from Ogun State. For example, if Proforce leverages its strengths from the military side and gets into 85% value added manufacturing of civillian private and commercial vehicles. It's a real threat and there is no sentiment in.business. it is painful to lose money. You can take west african market from Ogun State bit you would always be a struggling small time player at Nnewi |

Jimi24:Most of you are really dumb Nnewi is a town in Anambra not a state, Anambra host the biggest market in West Africa, dwarf Ogun state in normal GDP, Ogun doesn't have major market, or consumer strength, industries that found it way to Ogun is just because of closeness to Lagos and cheap land, Anambra is an industrial and commercial city, Innoson made his money in Anambra built his massive plant, you most be "" by comparing that mushroom Proforce to Innosson. |

Jimi24:Innoson source most of their parts locally, especially Nnewi that is known for auto parts manfacturers and market which doesn't exist in Ogun or any southwestern states |

Jimi24: Nnewi is home to many major indigenous manufacturing industries including Ibeto Group of Companies, Cutix and ADswitch, Uru Industries Ltd, Tummy Tummy noodles, Babymate diaper, Omata Holdings Ltd, Cento Group of Companies, Coscharis of Companies Group, Innoson Group of Companies, Ebunso Nig. Ltd, John White Industries, Ejiamatu Group of Companies, Chicason Group, Louis Carter Group, etc. The great majority of industrialists in the cluster of spare parts factories in Nnewi are also traders, and most of these traders are producing one or more of the products they specialize in marketing as traders (usually motor vehicle parts), and most began by distributing their products through their preexisting distribution networks. Nnewi is part of eastern Nigeria's industrial axis. The town has through culturally grounded institutions that act as sophisticated networks expanded to include an international dimension through trading relations with exporters from Asia. Over the last decade, the town of Nnewi has experienced relatively rapid industrialization. In excess of many medium-to-large-scale industries have been established across a variety of sectors. Since 1970, Nnewi residents have controlled approximately 80 to 90 percent of the motor-parts trade in Nigeria. Nkwo Nnewi Market is the major import and wholesale point for motor spare parts in Nigeria. The industrialists of Nnewi are adapting foreign technology to local needs, providing employment to thousands, and making available goods and services which are relevant actual needs of the Nigerian citizens. The first indigenous car manufacturing plant is located in the city, while the first wholly Made-in-Nigeria motorcycle was manufactured in Nnewi by the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI). |

The thread is so revealing of the mindset of an average Yoruba person. The Yoruba's won't accept that they have no natural economic advantage over the Igbo's. The east has sea ports, better environment, better education and most importantly the human resources to become an economic giant. if I were a yoruba, I would find it shameful bragging with status of Lagos when I know it was the nation's politics of development that made the city at the expense of the east. well, no wonder they all choke at the mention of Biafra. 1 Like |
