The comments in this thread are why people take humility and gentle character for foolishness

You spend hours writing a song, some dude goes and uses it to gesticulate all over a huge stage and gets paid in millions

You open your mouth to complain, they will be talking Holy Spirit

But I'll say it again, Holy Spirit will actually scold you if you use Him as an excuse not to stand up for yourself! God doesn't tell us to lie down and let people march up and down our bodies

And Holy Spirit will not FILL your stomach.

Don't be a chump! Tell the useless fellow to credit you for your song or give you your share of the proceeds.

Is it not how Black Face became a hollowed out shell for over a decade? Because of people trying to excuse nonsense

I wonder why only the offended party should be a Christian when the teef didn't have Christianity in mind when he was salivating all over your God-breathed song

From today's Open Heavens, hear godly wisdom, not worldly wisdom.
" It is shameful for two brothers of the same Father to take their family dispute to an outsider to settle. Not only does it imply that there is no wise fellow in their family who can settle their dispute, it also opens the door for cultures that are not theirs to influence the way they live their lives, because the fellow whom they take their case to will judge it according to the culture he or she is familiar with. This is what happens when we charge our brethren to court."

I am not saying the dude chose the best way of saying it but if he has been warning them since and they don't want to listen, then he can go public with it.

What you have written there is just a general statement. People shouldn't feel guilty for fighting for what is theirs

That kind of emotional blackmail is why people mess their lives up in the name of religion

When am not supporting the exploitation of the work of a man grin grin

If you dont know that is simply what is happening,

some artiste will wait on God for inspiration or was blessed with a song, others toiled way back to bring songs to a fore

but someone somewhere is jumping from one pulpit to another singing those songs and collecting guest artiste fee.

If u support this may the just God bless u with same experience.

A Christian brother will reap of your sweats afterall he will thank God and give testimony about sweatless reward.
are you saying it's a churches to sing other people's gospel song?

Mujtahida:

It's all because the mercantile spirit has taken over Christianity and everyone thinks in terms of self.

The motivation for Christian songs used to be for praise and worship of God. It was directed upwards and then it mattered not who wrote the songs. Many people today do not know of the great hymn writers like Isaac Watts, Augustus Toplady, fanny Crosby, John Newton etc yet their songs continue to edify the church.

But now 'performers' have taken over and in keeping with the reality of money and the adulation of the crowd, it makes sense to demand that artists should sing their own songs so that they don't steal the shine from the original song writer.

Comments here show that there's no distinction between a rock concert and church programmes like The Experience. They are all for show. I was there in 2010.

A. W Tozer saw this years ago now the thing has ripened.
As if others don't sing Sammy's song
