Actually, I think it's the other way around or in the very least, mutual. Nigerian men in South Africa don't want to date Nigerian women, instead they chase after South African women & women from other parts of Africa. In fact, after South African women, their 2nd close favourite are Zimbabwean women. I don't see what the big deal is either way. Someone in the comments said it's money & I wholly agree. Nigerian men ingratiate themselves to women with money, that's a known fact. They actually kind of get insulted when you're not impressed by their flamboyance, pomp & flashy lifestyle.

Yes that's true, in fact, some live off their women. However, the typical Nigerian is a spender regardless of whether they have enough to live on or not. They're the type that'll volunteer to buy you something, so obviously, many will pounce at the opportunity to be with someone like that. Everyone knows how Nigerian men are, even other foreigners. Actually in townships (high density suburbs) Nigerians are banned. But that's more about the second other prevailing mentality Nigerians have to contend with: that they specialise in drugs.

So yar, Nigerian men in SA face a different dynamic than other foreigners. I remember a thread where Nigerian men were celebrating that laides all over place them as the most romantic. My heart died. Because what these women meant was that Nigerian men use money a lot. Instead of game. A naija man sees a girl he likes, he throws money at her (not literally of course). And that makes them very easy victims for scamming.
