Re: Breaking News! Pdp Defeats Acn In Lagos Bye-election by luvinhubby(m): 6:31pm On Dec 27, 2010 |
The fact is most residents of Lagos are fed up with Fashola and ACN`s highandedness. Why commercialise public utility and one pays toll to enter his ancestral home. Why pay toll on a road still under construction that has a 30yr concession agreement, if they start collecting toll now, what guarantee do you have that they will finish the road in 8yrs time. Why pay MVAA license of N25,000 to sell motor and motorcycle parts in Lagos and still pay trade permit, tenement rate, radio and TV license, income tax, development levy, waste disposal fee and your landlord still debits for land use charge. Fact is, Lagosians are fed up with Tinubu/Fashola`s ACN in Lagos. Why pay N25,000 for a breaking traffic law in a city where the minimum wage is N7,500 is that not madness. All politicians are the same, ACN or PDP, we have tried ACN in lagos, they are Shylocks, lets give PDP a chance. |

As much as I like ACN and Fashola Gov. One of the major problems he created in Lagos state is the refined tout boys known as KAI Brigades. You need to see how these guys takes law into their hands. They arrest people anyhow and throw them into black Maria, lock them up threatening to send them to jail if they can`t pay N10000. And all these is taken place at their Alausa office a stone throw from Fashola`s office. |

Pro Anti:yes correct , the problem with Nigeria is not Pdp or ACN or Ad or any party , the problem is with Nigerians its people that make up a party until we all change there is nothing for us if we like let ATT or CNN or AD win election we would still remain the same , |
Re: Breaking News! Pdp Defeats Acn In Lagos Bye-election by dayokanu(m): 7:10pm On Dec 27, 2010 |
luvinhubby: Actually madness is breaking the traffic law knowing that you have to pay 25k when your minimum wage is N7,500. |
Re: Breaking News! Pdp Defeats Acn In Lagos Bye-election by Kobojunkie: 7:11pm On Dec 27, 2010 |
dayokanu: Problem is many of the drivers do not even know when they have or about to break these traffic laws. There are cases of people going the wrong way down one lane roads with no clear signs indicating it is a one-lane road. This happens quite a lot --only recently to a friend from out of state, home to visit. I believe there is another thread where you have people highlighting this problem. |

it is not celebration time for pdp in lagos! lagÖsians are wiser now and can not be deceived or enslaved anymore. pdp shoould look beyond lagos now especially with the recent changes in the south west tides, they should focus on the north! for the fact that they won a minute part of lagos does not call for any noise. acn has just shown to them that the rule of the game is fair play and not rigging!!!! |

luvinhubby: In fact you are right! you can`t imaging LCDA {Local Council Dev, Area} keep coming to my office to ask for N10,000 for what they called Business jurisdiction . after I paid Business premises and Tax to State Gov. Tinubu/Fashola should know that it is not by force to create LCDA if they can`t fund it. |

Re: Breaking News! Pdp Defeats Acn In Lagos Bye-election by Holla2: 7:50pm On Dec 27, 2010 |
royalworld: Well said! PDP has shown us what they have to offer. Power without a clear vision gives birth to a failed state. We will not fold our arms and allow these set of guys, who cannot even wisely manage internal affairs within their party, truncate our dream of a better Nigeria. Poverty to D People is headed for the rocks! |

A Yoruba saying goes thus Araba tun ara mu Odo ngba rere Meaning the Boabab tree be more care full as the stream is pcking up momentun i.e packing everything. The ACN is on the verge of making same mistake AD and the Governors made pre-2003 by becoming too confident, too comfortable and insulting people's sensibilities( Osoba and Former Ekiti state Government) . As much as people including self will want ACN or any other party except PDP to hold sway in the southwest and other parties including PDP to be in government in other states, I will not subscribe to past Glories or a party becoming too comfortable thus leading to mediocre and inept Government. At this moment in the southwest, we need aggressive development especially in the area of having "Community Wealth" and not wealth (cash)in the hands of some idiots as a result of their politicking and politics rather than through service to their people which I believe and pbserve is the fundamental principle of Power to Da People which is not and never and ever what will bring the Southwest and indeed Nigeria to the where we talk about it to be. I hope some people thinking because alll we are hearing from Lagos could be a sign of the Beginning of the end like it happened in the pre- 2003 era. Long live Nigeria |

Reference:If he is such a good person, will he join a party described as a "nest of killers", the exponents of garrison democracy, do-or-die. If he is that good, he can get on the ticket of an unknown party. Jimi Agbaje created a sensation with DPN in 2007 and that was for governorship election |

feyiad:Really? Yes we need to bring in the educated people like Tokyo and Adedibu and gentlemen like Akala, Gbenga Daniel, Anenih, BTW in 2003, Ogun state gave PDP a chance. Now NO tertiary instiution is open. The House of Assembly has not sat for months. In Oyo State, are you envious of their "achievements" since their gave PDP a chance? |
Re: Breaking News! Pdp Defeats Acn In Lagos Bye-election by truly: 8:59pm On Dec 27, 2010 |
Kobojunkie:That is correct. The higher the fine for breaking the law, the greater the incentive for both parties to reach "out-of-officialdom" settlement. Settling with N10k is a far cry than paying N50k through a time-wasting process But some people drive against the traffic even on 3rd mainland bridge - that is not due to insufficient signage. |

i believe Gbenga is a pdp man,but honestly there is no way pdp can win lagos gubernatorial.the pdp goverment has failed the nation having ruled for 12 years now, nothing to show,no power,no road,no security and you still believe nigerian should keep this failed party in power,no wayyyy og a gbenga |

Nsiman:So how many elections has GEJ won in his own name. Because he became president through "scholarship", he is now an election winner! Anyway Like play, like lucky dip, like rigging, like fabricated text messages, like intimidation and strike force (Anenih, Daniel, Akala), like manipulation of chairmanship of PDP, like manipulation of primaries schedule, like giving Bankole and David Mark the opportunity to buy their officials quarters, like horse trading - automatic ticket for even non-performing governors, like compiling "ghosted" conversations on facebook and calling it a book (even with his PhD while even the tyrant, Obasanjo,a military man, wrote a book a long time ago), yes like all of those, GEJ can "win" Lagos |

Winning one LGA should not be a criteria, even Papa Awo consistently lost some places in Lagos and the West in general, Ibadan and Ogbomoso were some of the places but AG and later UPN would still carry majority at the end of the day. |

gbengapro: So a party is good when it wins all the seats? damn, Nigerians know nothing abt democracy, Democracy is all about the rule of the majority and not the sweeping of all the seats, In fact,, only in a fake democraqcy can a party sweep all seats in a state, |

LAGOSIANS BE CAREFUL!!! Yes, be careful and mind whom you decide to go to bed with. Some of us are complaining about high handedness of ACN/Fashola but the we are just like Kids who see any form of disciplinary act from our parents as high handedness and utter wickedness, only to see the benefit in our later years. The business man complaining about tax burden should also remember that his the profit he declares for tax puposes for his business is always much less than what he actually makes (true or false). I come from Edo state and I can categorically tell you that The alternative to ACN is definitely not PDP. Ex-governor Lucky Igbinedion wasbefore becoming a governor was a the Chairman Oredo LGA, he was active and utilised the available resources optimally, then came his days as governor under the PDP and we saw a totally different person (unofficially voted worst governor from 1999 to 2007). What happened to him? Yes, he got infected with that virus in PDP which tarnishes anything it touches. Today, Edo state is seeing a new face of governance if you are opportuned to pass through Benin city in 2003 and now 2010 you may be able to grasp my message more easily. I tell you that PDP has nothing to offer to us Lagosians, the only reason they are going after Lagos with all their guns blazing is because of the potential it has in terms of available LOOT. Point for Point with resources available, the ACN has been more effective in their states than their PDP counterparts. LAGOSIANS, YOUR BEST OPTION MAY NOT BE ACN BUT I ASSURE YOU THAT YOUR WORST OPTION IS PDP. THINK WELL AND CHOOSE WELL. THANK YOU. |
Re: Breaking News! Pdp Defeats Acn In Lagos Bye-election by Nobody: 1:29pm On Dec 28, 2010 |
Ikorodu is not historically part of Lagos State. Ikorodu has Ogun origins and the Ogun River even runs through the town. So I am not surprised the PDP is strong there. If not for State creation and Border expediencies, Lagos State will be very small. I'm sure that is why the Fashola Administration is not paying much attention to Ikorodu. As for me, I'm not really interested in the Party that controls Lagos State. What I want is good leadership Cool Cool Cool I don't care if an Independent Candidate becomes the Governor of Lagos State. As long as he or she can bring development to the state, he or she will keep having my blessings. The destiny of Nigeria does not lie in the hands of a particular political party. The destiny of our country lies in us voting in credible leaders at all levels of Government. Cheers. YOU ARE NOT SURE OF WHAT YOU ARE SAYING? IS IT ONLY IKORODU THAT THE "OGUN-OSUN RIVER BASIN" PASSED THROUGH AND WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ORIGIN? IS IT ONLY NIGER STATE THAT RIVER NIGER PASSES THROUGH? ARE U SAYING THAT ACN DID NOT WIN IKORODU BECAUSE IT IS NOT HISTORICALLY PART OF LAGOS OR BECAUSE FASHOLA ADMINISTRATION DID NOT PAY ATTENTION TO IKORODU? FOR your INFORMATION, IKORODU HAS BEEN PART OF LAGOS FROM DAY ONE, EVEN DURING THE COLONIAL ADMINISTRATION. THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT WAS FORMALLY KNOWN AS IKORODU DIVISION. ARE WE EVEN TALKING ABOUT ORIGIN/HISTORY HERE OR DEVELOPMENT? SHOULD POLITICS BE BASED ON ORIGIN? YOU'RE SIMPLY A MEDIOCRE-SO U BELIEVE THAT THE DESTINY OF OUR COUNTRY LIES IN US VOTING CREDIBLE LEADERS AND NOT LEADERS WHO WILL CONSIDER ORIGIN! |

TINUBU IS WORST THAN OBJ,Thats why i dont believe in ACN.He doesnt want to mind his business and stop hindering BRF from developing lagos further. |
Re: Breaking News! Pdp Defeats Acn In Lagos Bye-election by shawonlese: 5:08am On Dec 29, 2010 |
@ stine B, Is Lagos really developing? The efforts of BRF have been concentrated in the Elite part of Lagos, while the less glamorous parts have more or less been abandoned, or with minimal development. Those who come out to vote enmasse on election day are not those who live in elite arrears and shiny glass houses, but those who reside in the less glamorous part of Lagos. i.e. market women etc The people are now wiser. As things stand at the moment, any opposition with money and well orchestrated propaganda can beat ACN severely in Lagos. |
