All these people mainly made their billions from the oil in Niger delta which our rivers state is the oil capital. But since 1960 till date there's no single billionaire from Rivers state. Is the oil wealth not for Rivers people?

We suffer the air and water pollution but outsiders reap from the wealth.

PORT HARCOURT is a glorified village whereas Abuja that they used our oil wealth to develop is now a world class city.

The less you worry about your state or country, the better you will be. Most business men wake up everyday thinking about their business. They hardly talk about bad roads, no light and so on. Nobody will talk about those issues. Everybody will just move on and pretend they werent there.

Stop thinking like a Jew, start thinking like a member. Stop saying "them" , start saying "us" , "we".

A lot of people dont know it but Rivers state was created to siphon the mineral wealth of the people of the area.

I laugh when people talk about Rivers state. Gowon created Rivers state in 1967 and the people of the area cheered. What they did not know was what Gowon gave with one hand, he took away 10 times more with the other hand.

Because of state creation, the Federal Government siezed the Oil weath of the area and gave the people of the area Chicken change. Resource control disappeared and so did fiscal responsibility. Subsequent military governments, all of Northern extraction, helped their friends to take control of the area

O. B. Lulu Briggs was almost a billionaire worth more than $500 million before his death and presently there are promising young men I need not mention approaching that mark.. Abuja and Lagos were built by FG and corporate headquarters of organizations are sited there including oil exploration Companies making 99% of their money in Rivers State. Presently NLNG is the only company that has moved their headquarters to Port-Harcourt while we await NDDC.

Mechionu. Who is Wigwe? Did he give in his personal capacity or bank capacity? He gave the money on behalf of the bank. It's not his money. He doesn't even worth 100m

Who is to be blame for the backwardness of Rivers State?
Compare the amount that comes to the region on daily/ monthly.......
From NDDC to Ministry of Niger Delta to13% derivation to internally generated revenue etc all for the development of the region yet the place still like a slump.
Some Countries with lesser income to what Rivers State have are more developed than what you see here.
Comparing what you see in Abuja with Rivers State, even though you give three times the amount used to build Abuja to Rivers people, they will still squander and still come to blame Hausa Fulani for the poor development of the area....
