Can any Africa country demand for probe into European Union Central Bank affairs? Or can EU demand probe into how America runs their treasury or viice versa

Demark, Sweden, France etc that said it is US right to probe what belong to Africa are they mad or what This is an insult and a slap to Africa as a nation.

Enough is Enough of all these nonsense.

I'm not justifying what the secretary of US treasury is doing. You must know that they're a significant shareholder in AfDB, hence why that seem to be calling the shots

Africa keeps taking their money and inviting them as 'partners'. They have a say as per the mutual agreement.

If Africans had a sense of integrity (and self restraint) this wouldn't happen. Alas, they don't.

Nigeria don show them pepper... try shit and we pull out

Nigerian GDP is the highest in Africa.. with $400billion USD as Nigerian GDP and the whole of Africa combine has $2.58 trillion

interms of size of our population with over 200 million citizens out of sub saharan africas 1 billion population we still control Africa interms of size, as we are 1 out of every 5 black person in Africa

Available resources we still lead,

When Ghana and other west African dwarf countries where doing anyhow, didnt we close our land borders and send them into pains

.
The Era of Nigeria being big for nothing is over, we supposedly have $400b gdp but what is our per capita? Standard of living etc.
Yes we closed our land boarders and sent them to pains but that was temporal, the boarders are still closed but do you still hear them complain? They have moved on and improvised! Our products cannot be exported to the west African market, meanwhile theirs is smuggled into ours.
We pull out and others will take our place. Who knew USA and other countries were involved in afdb? Them go take our shares. After all our 400b gdp na just the size of new York city fire department budget.

They wan hold Ade's blockos. The reason why there is no accountability in Nigeria is that we attribute every call to religion, race, tribe and colour.

Interest. The United States is the largest shareholder in the IMF and World Bank as well as the highest non-African shareholder in AfDB. Adesina has been expediting loan requests to African countries which caused the World Bank President to complain that Adesina's actions increase the debt portfolio of African countries (actually, Adesina's style causes the African countries to reduce loan requests to World Bank and IMF). To put him in check and protect US investments in AfDB and African geopolitics through US creditor power, Adesina has to be kicked out.

PS: For your second question, no African countries own shares in the European Central Bank or European Commission or European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and no EU or African country owns shares in US Federal Reserve Bank (no law would permit it), so they can't put their mouth in how those institutions are run.

One lapse too is that AfDB loans are denominated in dollars. So the US can sanction them for "misusing the dollars". An unrelated example is that UBS (the largest Swiss Bank) paid $780 million to the United States government for helping US citizens hide their money abroad thereby evading taxes and attempting to impede the role of the Internal Revenue Service, i.e., what the United States is doing interfering in AfDB, they won't allow anyone try it with their own institutions. Yet, Africans gave them too much power. Perhaps, it is time to denominate AfDB loans in selected African currencies and find a way to buy out the United States.

I understand your points but just to point out that ECB and US federal reserve are our equivalent of CBN so I will be shocked and embarrassed if FGN has given out CBN "shares" to other countries.

Of course AfDB wouldn't have had the US as the major players if African leaders had kept their houses in order.

Yes I detest the hawkish behaviour of the West and East but at the same time I blame Africa for failing to put her acts together.

taking our shares is of no importance to us, Nigerian shareholding of AfDB is still like doing Africa a huge favour.. if AfDB like let them give American ownership 100% and buy out our shares still doenst change a damn thing

As a lending institution they make money only when people borrow, and take out Nigeria from its folds of customers then they are just another bank with huge funds without major customers utilizing the fund...

and for your information ghana and other west african countries are no longer crying because buhari already gave them conditions for the special land border window which they happily complied.. and now the respect they give Nigeria in ECOWAS in all issue has multiplied

It is much more than complaining.

The world is becoming more complex each passing day.

It should be a wake up for Nigerian leaders to do some soul-searching.

If they failed to mend their ways and decide to continue in their traditional corrupt practises, the insults and humiliation will certainly increase.

Sit down and fix your country or get ready for more slave treatment.

Elect competent leaders and you would have fixed 40 percent of the problems...

SouthEast in terms of land mass is same size with OyoState

interms of Poverty Prevailence Rate it is the poorest in Southern Nigeria

interms of GDP it is the second poorest after NorthEast

in terms of IGR only Anambra can be said to have an average IGR the rest are so low you wonder if anyone pays tax in SouthEast

Interms of leadership, your best are Nnamdi Kanu who hasnt worked a day in his life, a University drop out, or is it Ekweremadu in the senate for 20 years but couldnt even speak of Biafra for one day ? is it the Orjis of Abia

lol lets face it Biafra was a Country for 3 years and they surrendered to Nigerian willingly after hunger changed their mindset.. so in all honesty we aint loosing anything, if anything you loose your businesses again and get 20 pounds as compensation

Obasanjo wouldn't have come out to defend him. And you (Nigerians) would have believed the story. That's the glaring truth.

I personally see this US probe as an insult on Africans. Trump Admin for that matter, a racist bigot, visionless, arrogant and largely unintelligent fellow who talks and tweet without common sense.

Let everyone know today that Trump met USA as a Powerful and strong economy nation but would be leaving the country as a hopeless, powerless, and visionless nation.

Normally, he's supposed to commit suicide for a nation like America loosing over 100k souls to a virus. Yet, he has the gut to ask for investigation of someone who has done extremely well in managing what has committed to him. No one in the history Trump generations has ever achieved what Adesina has achieved.

Calm down bro, USA is a major donator to the bank. They can't be donating money to a bank and the money is being used anyhow. If u don't want them to have a say, then stop collecting donations from them. But if u stop, the bank may go broke.

yes Nigeria isnt has rich s some state in US especially california, however in Africa in terms of who is more bankable, interms of GDP , Population, resouces Nigeria still holds the ace, so only a foolish bank would chase one of its major shareholder, and by far the highest customer, for US who dont borrow or partronize them but are merely investors..

if Nigeria stops borrowing from AfDB and we head to China EXIM bank that ofers very lowintrest rate do you think the other mushroom african countries can borrow from AfDB for it to have a profitable business

China may offer the best rate but as it stands today doing business with China is not in the best interests of Africa.

Of the two evil I will chose the west anytime over China.

Let's agree that this is a false call and should been seen as a witch hunt. The west may have their agenda but somewhere within their nefarious activities their ideology allows them to throw in a sense of decorum and they act well every now and then.

Can you tell me anywhere where China has called out or try to call our the rots going on among the political class in countries where they do business?

From a purely business perceptive which you hinge your points on you are 100 percent correct and I am not going to fault any of your claims.

But for us it should not be, we should look at the long term and all round implications of every single partnership African goes into. Infact it is time we start reviewing our existing partnerships with the world.

I have to acknowledge that we were rail roaded into most of the one sided relationship we have with the west but with China it seems we are foolishly walking into it.

Sorry I had to rant a bit. grin
