We condemn in its entirety, the arrest and detention of Nastura Sherif who led a protest against the insecurity bedeviling Northern Nigeria and the inability of the government to halt the killings by the bandits.

As a group, we are deeply concerned that dissenting voices are being silenced and critics hounded by the Nigerian government.

The constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria gives citizens rights to freedom of expression and assembly. The actions of Nastura and others against the incessant killings in their region is a justified one.

Moreover, we call on the Police and other relevant security agencies to ensure that Nigerians are safe. The government should look for best possible solutions to the issues being raised by Nastura rather than arresting and detaining him.

Dr. Nwambu Gabriel
Country Director.

When the sane minds were protesting ills and evil being perpetrated by the Buhari administration, the same coalition and Northern Youth Movement were busy issuing instead of addressing the main issue. Now the hen has come home to roost

Nigeria is no longer practicing democracy but dictatorship.
They don’t want to perform, they still don’t want people to protest over their inability to perform.

If this country was a sane society, there ought to be protest on every corner of the streets now.

The judiciary ought to be on protest for the mockery this APC government is making of it.

The Civil Society ought to be protesting for the mockery this government is making of our democracy.

The Labour Union ought to have called for protest for the hike in price of transport and food commodities in the country.

And the citizens ought to be protesting now for the untold hardship this APC government has brought on Nigerians.

But, here we are suffering and smiling, and licking the ar.ses of our oppressors.

Where is the democracy watch when this tribe humiliated an innocent, calm and selfless man out of the power? Where are they when those ignorant are trekking from yobe to Abuja to celebrate the victory of their devil incarnate? Una never see anything.

The north "APC" has lost confidence on their beautiful bride @General Buhari. Finger crossed as more drama unfolds.

They dont have the energy to arrest the bandits and criminals in the forest, but are quick to arrest law abiding protesters voicing out the insecurity.
