If indeed it is about quality of work then the contractor should be held responsible but we all know it isn't so it's all about trying to discredit an innocent man. Wow ...you don't mean it. Many of these governors only embark on building flyovers and bridges to give the people a false sense of belonging that they're up to Lagos infrastructure wise ...this is wrong. Lagos infrastructure was built on the need to have basis. You don't build flyovers or bridges where there's no immediate need for such. Invest the funds in other sectors - health, agriculture, commerce and empowerment. Imagine if they did all of these, those hawkers on the streets of Lagos would have no need to travel down there.

OWERRI TUNNEL DEMOLISHED, AS FEAR OF IMPENDING COLLAPSE GROWS HIGHER

Imo State Commissioner for Works, Ralph Nwosu yesterday visited the Gen. Aguyi Ironsi tunnel along Portharcourt road where the tunnel is currently undergoing demolition.

While inspecting the tunnel, the commissioner noted that the technical drawings and design of the tunnel are nowhere to be found. He stated that it was the considered opinion of the consultants and engineers of the ministry that the tunnel should be demolished in the interest of the public.

He further reiterated that it is better to err on the side of caution when issues of safety are involved especially for a busy road like the Assumpta Portharcourt road where the tunnel is situated.

Ralph Nwosu therefore called on Imolites especially those plying the road to exercise patience with the contractor and the government as a lasting solution is being put in place to save that spot adding that the shared prosperity government ably led by His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma is determined in serving Ndi-Imo better as anchored on her 3R Agenda.

Problem is that there are too many ignoramuses in Imo state capital who believe that FLYOVER is sign of a developed mega city. But no good town planner goes for flyovers unless roundabout or traffic lights can’t be built on the junction.

The Ignorant people in Imo state capital don’t have access to treated public water supply, they consume untreated water from boreholes, but pressure successive governors of Imo state to build them flyovers in Owerri.


And they are blind to the fact that other urban areas of the state have no good roads, are being wrecked by absence of common urban drainage gutters, no town planning, talk less, treated public water supply system.

Primitive tribalism has messed you up. Imagine this guy telling someone to stop using Umahi as a case study of good governance. That he should use Wike or Udom

Really?! Rivers State and Akwa Ibom each have annual budgets in excess of 500 billion naira while Ebonyi struggles with just about 100 billion naira yet there ain't much difference between them in terms of projects delivered. Do you know what only an additional 100 billion naira given to Umahi can do?? If Umahi is given half of what Wike or Udom has at their disposal, he will perform more than the two of them combined.

Ebonyi is in the category of Ekiti state in terms of revenue and when they were created, but can you compare both states now?!

We Igbos don't suffer fools gladly, we call them out when they mess up, just as we are doing with characters like T.A Orji, Rochas, Okezie Ikpeazu so we don't celebrate mediocrity or close our eyes like some others do.

I'm not a fan of Umahi but the man is already in the hall of fame among the greatest administrators from the East. I personally rate him third after Michael Okpara and Dee Sam Mbakwe.
