their business

These are guys who killed christianity in nigeria

from oyedepo to adeboye olukoya....
..they extrapolated and polluted the church to another dimension.

they privatise and commercialise christianity to mega companies and have branch managers scattered at all corners of nigeria.

they have exported 666 to all corners of nigeria.

avoid these churches if u need long life....they don't represent God. they are all business oriented.

Which trouble? Who told you that the church is God's storehouse,?

Church means kingdom activities on earth. The kingdom, i.e new Jerusalem, from heaven is the church of Christ on earth, as He said "LET YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN."

The will of God is the activities of heaven manifesting in the dark world through His church, termed as God's kingdom business. The light of Jesus Christ upon the church is marching forward, fast advancing, and brightly illuminating upon the surface of the earth, and darkness of the world cannot comprehend it.. Reason, the heathen of the world is raging to stop the tithing by hook or by crook. Unfortunately, many brethren are falling away heaply..

Brother, God is spiritual and church on earth is physical. Storehouse of heavenly blessings is spiritual and storehouse of God on earth is physical. Bring your tithe to His storehouse and the windows of heaven open for you to magnet the heavenly blessings upon your life..

As tax is important to the government so likewise is tithe important to church. So if you understand how a country fund her budget, that how a church funds his projects. If you are a real Christian, you don't only give your tithe to God but even your life, talents, resources etc. Read about the patriarchs of old, they sacrificed their all even children, their life, treasures etc to God and God didn't reward them only on earth but also in eternity. We don't pay tithe to pastors but to God and God knows if anyone uses his money for personal stuffs. Most pastors you complain about don't feed on the tithes. There r some that God has told some rich people to feed them just like the case of Elijah and Elisha. So if you feel that pastors are using it to enrich themselves, instead of insulting them why not look for a church where you feel your tithe is used for the kingdom. Tithe is an integral part of the church. God doesn't necessarily need your money. He can fund his church through any means. We give to God because he gave himself for us without murmuring and complaining and for the ministry to reach out to the world, we need money. Shalom

The commentator also asked if the Bishop pay 10 percent of covenant university turnover or any of his many businesses as tithes.

He doesn't pay tax nor tithe, he doesn't respect the government, flouted biblical laws a number of time.

Another lying man of God? shocked what are the odds of that

This is what God told you to do with the Tithe He commanded of you.

Deuteronomy 14 vs 22 -29 ERV
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
22 Every year you must be sure to save one-tenth(tithe) of all the crops that grow in your fields.
23 Then you must go to the place the Lord chooses to be the home for his name. You will go there to be with the Lord your God.
At that place you will eat the tenth(tithe) of your crops; one-tenth of your grain, your new wine, your oil, and the first animals born
in your herds and flocks. In this way you will always remember to respect the Lord your God.

24 But that place might be too far for you to travel to. Maybe you will not be able to carry one-tenth(tithe) of all the crops that the
Lord has blessed you with. If that happens,
25 sell that part of your crops and take the money with you to the special place the Lord has chosen.
26 Use the money to buy anything you want; cattle, sheep, wine or beer or any other food Then
you and your family should eat and enjoy yourselves there in that place with the Lord your God.
.

27 But don't forget the Levites living in your town. Share your food with them because they don't have a share of the land like you
have.
28 At the end of every three years, you must gather one-tenth of your harvest for that year. Store this food in your towns.
29 Keep this food for the Levites, because they don't have any land of their own. Also keep this food for the foreigners, orphans, and
widows who live in your towns. This will provide enough for them to come and eat all they want. If you do this, the Lord your God
will bless you in everything you do.

How can what you do today in your world-churches compare to what God comanded?
You people follow man's tithing-formulae instead of God's tithing-formulae, so how can you pretend God accepts this from you?

Inviting trouble into his peaceful dome when there is none is the foolish thing to do against God. A tithe payer who is at peace with God is asking servant of God who he pays his tithe to is looking for God's trouble upon himself.

Pay your tithe peacefully and mind your business. You don't need to tell the world that you pay tithe to him neither does he need to tell us who he pays his tithe to..

God's instruction is bring your tithe to his storehouse known as church's treasury. God is the only one who knows the amount paid.

Know for sure that having thought of paying tithe to a man of God is a robbery mentality. It grieves God.

A tithe payer who pays His tithe according to the way God specified is one that obeys God.

This is what God told you to do with the Tithe He commanded of you.

You pay tithe every month, right? God said only pay tithe once every 3 years

You don't eat your tithe but God commands that during the first and second year, you eat your tithe with those who are poor.

So how can a holy God accept your unholy tithe?

The bible is a spiritual book so you don't read it as a textbook and you compare scriptures with scriptures. God gave the Israelites laws at that time because of the hardness of their heart and because God knows their heart that they love doing their will also in the case of marriage and divorce but in the news testament, we live by Grace where we don't for ourselves but for Christ because as he becomes Lord and Master,he own us by creation and by redemption. It's the duty of the church to take care of their pastor through tithe and also for the furtherance of the gospel. As new testament Christian, we follow the pattern of Christ who gave his all for the gospel sake. Like I said earlier, we don't only give money (tithe, offerings etc) but we give our all for the expansion of the gospel. I hope this will help.
1 Chronicles 29:6 Then the chief of the fathers and princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers of the king's work, offered willingly, 29:7 And gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drams, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.
29:8 And they with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of the LORD, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.
29:9 Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
2 Corinthians 8:1 Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;
8:2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
8:3 For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
8:4 Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
8:5 And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God. So if you don't have grace,u can give.
Imagine as a Christian that you claim and there is a need in the church and you can't give?
You claim to be a Christian and you must wait for them to announce money before you give?
You claim to be a Christian and all you know is give me,give me Lord and you can't sacrifice for God and his kingdom? I wonder the kind of Christianity we are practising. Shalom

I read your bible extract and couldn’t reconcile how it supports tithing.

If your argument is about giving willfully, nobody will argue with you because Jesus and his disciples preached about giving unequivocally. The same thing cannot be said about tithe. Jesus never preached unequivocally about tithe and neither did any of his disciples. Even in the days of the law, tithe was not referred to as a weighty or serious matter. It was just a social security arrangement to support the vulnerable. Good enough, it had been abolished with the law.

So bro, stop trying to muddle things up. Compulsory tithing laced with curses that Oyedepo and other charlatans are preaching is not the same as free will giving.
