In the past whenever I got a little I will go to website to watch porn.


What I did to solve this problem: The data that I supposed to use to watch porn, I now divert it to something meaningful online. Once you're immersed in that thing completely you'll forget about porn.

For me, what made me stop was that I looked at my life and said to myself enough of this rubbish, it's time to start facing the realities of life. Right there, I just found my "WHY". So if anybody wants to stop any habit, you just need to find your own " WHY".

"Smokers are liable to die young." This particular quote has been hunting me for a while so I want to quit entirely or I'll smoke occassionally. Anything that have advantage also have disadvantage.

Stay with someone

Here, I don't mean - getting a girlfriend. I'm a Monk, so I'm against that. But if you can't do without you're OYO.

For you to stop the habit of masturbating, you need to live with someone, either a friend or a family member. Living in the same room with someone has helped me a lot. I noticed that whenever my sibling is around, I'll not have the guts to masturbate. But when I'm all alone in the room, I'll masturbate. I can only fantasize about women, nyansh etc. I don't want you to think bad thing because it can lead you to masturbate.

Note: fantasizing about sexual stuff is not good, because it can increase your urge to masturbate.

What if the person decide to travel for some days, weeks, months, or even years and you're all alone in the room? You may ask.

That is one of my challenge at times, when the person I'm living with in the same room travels, I'll definitely fall back to masturbation. But after Some times I decided to find another method to overcome this challenge. Reading further, in my subsequent post, I'll write on that method. It is working for me perfectly. It will work for you also, if you can stay true to that method. You may relaspe once or twice but after some times you'll be free finally.

All you need to do is to take action. You may decide to continue masturbating if you feel it is good for you. But if masturbation is affecting you negatively, and you want to quit, follow all the methods on this thread.

If it isn't good for you, don't listen to anybody who talks on the benefits - you did derive from masturbation.

In my over 10 or 11 years (a decade) and some months experience in masturbation, the effects and damage was so clear. I don't need anybody to tell me that, "this is cause of your wahala".

Apart from giving me a good feeling, it actually make me depressed, sad, gloomy, bittered etc. But ever since I quit the habit, I found a new meaning to life. I discovered that, I take things more serious but back then I was always thinking of how to buy data, zoom to xvideo, naijauncutdotcom, pornhub to watch porn and masturbate. It was as if I'm a slave. Abtaining from masturbation is one of my greatest fit in this life.

Incubbus used to disturb me at night back then when I used to masturbate, but now I sleep like a baby.

Quitting any addiction may seem hard, but with determination and doggedness, you'll surely triumph and overcome.

Delay gratification
One thing about masturbation - is when you've the sexual urge (due to watching porn, looking at nude picture, engaging in sex-conversation etc.) your next move is to satisfy it.

Note: About the sexual content - I don't blame anyone who view such, because of the way it is easily accessible this days on the internet - even our dear Nairaland is not left out. You may come across a nude picture accidentally - by just clicking a link on the front page. But I think the mods are seriously working on this.

Yes, you'll come across sexual content, but you're in-charge of your emotion. Even if you stop watching porn on Xvideo or their likes, you may still lust after your favourite female celebrity - and do you Know what! This may lead you to masturbation. I'm not saying that you should not look at the picture of your semi-nude celebrities. But even at that you can still control your urge after viewing those picture.

How can you delay gratification in order not to masturbate?

You can do this - by delaying the urge to masturbate. Whenever you're experiencing the urge and you want to jo soapy... Lol at that moment, you can start counting from 1 to 100 or you can simply say - I will do this tommorrow (faking procrastination). If you can do this i.e. delaying satisfying the urge or cravings, you'll get used to it and masturbation will be a thing of the past soon.

I noticed that, whenever I watched a film with many sex scene, I will likely masturbate or bed wet. The solution to this, was (me) delaying getting pleasure from film, sex talk, thought and lusting at women's beauty etc. 85% of every of our action start from our thought. If we are able to think of something instead of sex or masturbation, films or talks about sex, we will find it easier to stop this addiction. It is all in our brain.

A decades and a few months of watching porn and masturbating has led me to many atrocities. Talking of wastage of time, being dull, quick to anger, low-self esteem etc. The effects are numerous, but after I decide ti quit/stop the habit forever, I have regain myself. Now, I can think straight, I'm confident, I can do whatever I like without feeling guilty.

There was a time around 2015, I resort to peeping at girls taking their bath in the neighbourhood, just to get hard - to masturbate when I did not have data. What a time wastage. It was hell that time, but I can't control myself then.

When I heard people talking about prayer - to help stop the habit of masturbating, I do laugh at times. Prayer without action cannot yield anything. Delay getting pleasure from movies, if you must watch movie it should be an educative and inspiring one.
