As of the last 969652694651498 days, there's been so much negative energy in this romance forum. I won't lie. I contribute, but that's because every once in a while, I, too, like to cause trouble. Anyway, I was reading some poems just now and found one that's encouraging and positive. To change the feel of things per se, particularly for those of us with XX chromosomes as our 23rd pair considering we're usually the topic of the negative threads here. It's nice to hear some encouraging words in this jungle every once in a while. -------------------- I am a woman of integrity, substance, pride, and love. Powerful, Graceful, and the barer of life. A woman worthy of all the treasures of the world. Descendant of great Kings and Queens. In a lifetime I shall wear many hats. Mother, Father, Sister, Friend, Lover, Referee, Judge, and Jury. Yet, I’m frowned upon by the one who claims he loves me. My strength threatens you, but aren’t you strong. My courage frightens you, but aren’t you courageous. You see I come from a long line of women who have raised or help raise their families. Working it out, not punking out. So don’t try to tear me down because I can work, maintain a household, give birth on Tuesday, and write a book about it on Thursday. This is done only because I have been forced into these positions, not by choice. Then you talk about your manhood being taking away. You are giving it away. I’m not your enemy. I’m your calmness before the storm. Your strength and comfort during and your support and determination after. I don’t need you to take care of me; I need for us to take care of each other. I don’t want to walk behind you in life. I must walk with you. I am a strong woman, so don’t be threatened by my strengths, be proud of them. A Soul Mate, A Help Mate, A Best Friend. Real and true ‘til the end. I believe Miss. Keys summed it up. “A real man knows a real woman when he sees her”.
