Did Pastor Bakare Actually Say This About Buhari? by Goddex: 3:54pm On Mar 08, 2011
“Let me tell you the truth by the spirit of God, neither Obasanjo, Atiku, IBB and this tall one Muhammadu Buhari are part of the new. They are part of the old that is decaying. That old one is passing away. The new is emerging and these ones are not part of the new.”
- Pastor Tunde Bakare in the Punch of Monday, October 2, 2006 Page 8

The question now is what is Bakare doing now with the old and decaying Buhari?

Maybe the spirit that was working with him that time has blurred his mind to remember his comment years back. I begin to wonder why the so called man of God is now Dinning with the old. Maybe he is also old fashioned or he is a new wine put in an old bottle.
We need Bakare to come out publicly and defend himself. Indeed, Pastoral work is far beyond being eloquent that is why some thought eloquence has made them qualified to be a pastor, Far from it. One wonder the kind of double spirit working with Bakare now. Voters Beware, dont cast your vote for a double standard fellow.

He is right. . .  Those men are part of the old Nigeria and ought not to be the ones in charge today but given the situation we find ourselves in, we have not much of a choice but use them to get to where we need to be. Only question after april is how long shalle we continue to go around the wilderness till we finally decide we are ready to step forward and do right by our own selves  undecided undecided

But when the youths are even disappointing, E.g. Bankole, Daniel, Akala, et al,
What do we do?

I'll rather commit a project in the hand of my trusted aged father than to put in care of an extravagant, wasteful clueless and visionless brother.

Dipo1234,

you need pastor bakare to come out and defend himself? where were you when he defended it? please search more!

this una propaganda will not work. it rather strengthens us. Obama was called anti-christ, his pastor messed up, they said he was not american and a black face cannot make white house. these are the soughts of bad belle that comes into play when change is inevitable.

And as the pastor used to say 'that was then, this is now'

Checked the bible and see where God reversed HIMSELF! Busybodies, in your entire life, have you not changed your mind on something?

Even I personally dont accept what every pastor in Nigeria tells me as I know there is every sense of human factor in their utterances, no matter how Godly they are, they are not God!

Thatz Nigeria and Nigerians for you. Ribadu once said that Tinubu's case on corruption gat no equal. What do we see today in ACN? Ribadu romancing with Tinubu. We are fukced realy. No end of looting and love of money in sight. PDP, CPC, ACN, APGA all na the same thing.

Anybody that thinks those looters have them in mind is the biggest fool of this generation.

Shut the Bleep up! How does that concern you even if he said so. The same Buhari voluntarily selected him as VP.

BB carry go - The whole of the South West is behind you - we will show them that you own the South West, not even. Tinubu. I will take off Tuesday from work to attend your rally in Lagos and encourage other patroitic Yoruba men and women to do the same - we will shortdown Lagos next for one day for BB.

Re: Did Pastor Bakare Actually Say This About Buhari? by Blazing99: 11:48am On Mar 10, 2011
Bakare said that in error. He's not in prophetic ministry and therefore cant be exact on prophecies. I know Buhari must have heard that, and Buhari has forgiven him and is choosing him as his running mate cos of his passion for Nigeria. If you want to criticize Bakare, could he without sin pls cast the first stone?

Now please can we move on.

and you think its easy to move on like that. committing our lives and future into the hands of a man that can't stand by his words or maybe suffers from loss of memory and what you have to say is "Now please can we move on". Do you think its all about buhari forgiving him? who cares if buhari flogs him in public for that statement. the issue at hand is not private between two of them but btwn them and abt 150 million Nigerians who have eyes, ears and retentive memory. we refuse to be deceived. Bakare chooses politics over ministry. A Pastor indeed!

Like i said he that is without sin cast the first stone. Yes Pastor Bakare was wrong in dat aspect. I his supporter admit to it. At least that is one of the few flaws he has.

I dont want to state flaws about GEJ cos it'll make me ashamed of my nationality with that guy as the president and his illiterate wife being a ridicule to Nigerian women.

Why Tunde Bakare is running!

Michael John, angryman@independentonline.com, 0807-914-5719 (SMS only)

Politics, so the ancient saying goes, makes strange bedfellows. An example of this was when Winston Churchill of Britain who was at war with Hitler of Germany had to contemplate a joint strategy with Stalin of Russia after Adolf Hitler attacked the defunct Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) without cause. Churchill who had no love lost for Stalin was asked whether he would contemplate a joint strategy with Stalin and he replied that his ultimate ambition in life was the destruction of Hitler and he was prepared to work with the devil himself to achieve this. Not since the days of the Second World War, when both men had to work together, has the world witnessed a curious political pairing like the current one between Mohammadu Buhari and Pastor Tunde Bakare.

The Buhari/ Bakare partnership is as curious as it is baffling. It is a little more shocking than Ibrahim Babangida teaming up with Great Ogboru would have been. But the ideological divide seems to be about the same. One is a Muslim ‘fundamentalist’ and the other is Christian ‘fundamentalist’. Buhari claims to have all the answers to all the nationalistic questions, Bakare claims to know all the questions. Buhari has contested every presidential election held in Nigeria after the death of Sani Abacha, the evil General; Bakare has criticized every election held in Nigeria and has had quite some harsh words for politicians. Perhaps the only known similarity between them is that both have surnames starting with the letter “B” and both surnames have six letters. The other similarity is that both of them have a lean and hungry look - and we should remember the admonition of the character Julius Ceasar in Williams Shakespeare’s book of the same name “Young Cassius has a lean and hungry look; He thinks too much: such men are dangerous.” The last time Buhari ruled, he had a strong man by the name of Tunde Idiagbon as his next in command. Now you would remember that Idiagbon was also a lean and hungry-looking fellow and both of them were dangerous to freedom of speech. They seemed to think too much and they never allowed the facts to interfere with their conclusions. But it does appear that what really swung the choice in favor of Bakare was his first name “Tunde.” Buhari must have woken up to the reality that if Idiagbon had not died, he would have been running with him. But in a fit of nostalgia he sought out a man with the same name and looks and decided to give him a trial.

But Pastor Bakare claims that we have never known Buhari. He is right – not only because he is the great pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly with a latter political rain rethink, but because he is a man who speaks from his heart and his mind. We may not know him as well as Aunty Meg knew Barr. Mike. In court Aunty Meg was questioned by Mike and Mike asked her “Do you know me?” Aunty Meg replied: “I know you Mike. You started smoking marijuana in secondary school. You have received psychiatric attention twice. You still cheat on your wife and consort with whores. Mike I know you…” A stunned Mike cut her short and asked her: “Do you know your lawyer, Dan?” She replied, “I know Dan as the palm of my hand. He was involved in shoplifting when he was twelve. He has two love children. His wife has had treatment three times for venereal diseases she contacted because of her infidelity…(She went on).” The judge sounded his cudgel, retired to his chambers and invited both lawyers to his chambers. “If any of you ask her if she knows me, I will jail you,” he cautioned them. No, we may not know Buhari like Aunty Meg knew the lawyers, but we know him well enough.

Is it not the same Buhari who used to appear in army gab with a stern face and had a “guardian angel” with the name of Tunde Idiagbon hovering in the background. The same Buhari who looked darned good in a beret! We remember him with his “War Against Indiscipline.” We remember his philosophy that the best way to win an argument with a man was to lock him up until he sees things your way.

The present Buhari wears agbada and smiles more often. Or is he a clone of the Buhari who was the military dictator? Is that why he still has his fingerprints and genetic copyright but he is a different person known only to Pastor Bakare – by revelation? Is there another Buhari?

And we also know Pastor Bakare. Pastor Bakare is the one who “prophesied” that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was going to die in office. Since the high chief of Otta Farm never had any plan to die (and he loved life as much as any one does), he was so upset that he threatened that politicians may soon take over churches – and send the pastors packing. Perhaps, referring to a pastor in Jos as “my foot,” could have been a fallout of the fact that his over-exaggerated “impending” death was the handiwork of a pastor. At least he lived long enough to take out his anger on another pastor - hell has no fury like a farmer scorned.

Pastor Bakare was not amused by Obasanjo’s insistence that he (OBJ) was not destined to die at the time Bakare said and noted that the man should wait until he left office.

Four years ago Obasanjo left office and is still kicking and bouncing around like a baby boy. And guess what, Pastor Bakare has decided to go into the office he said Obasanjo would die in. That is to be expected because my uncle did the same thing some time ago. Uncle Tom told his brother, George, not to let his (George’s) son, Johny, enlist in the army because soldiers are liable to die young. But Johnny had his way and ended up in the army. He went around the world on peace missions and came around building houses in the village. He became the toast of the village and whenever he would come riding home in his spick clean officer’s uniform, he would look healthier than the last time. And after Uncle Tom waited and waited for Johnny to die or be declared missing in action, he called his son and directed him to join the army. And now he sits pretty on his son’s achievement as a soldier and would not let a micro second slip by without telling stories of what a great soldier his son is.

Bakare must have waited for Obasanjo to die but after waiting all the while he came to notice that in stead of dying the man was looking healthier and younger and had even devised new ways of “yabbing” people. “Yabbing” is a trait he shares with Pastor Bakare but which he (Obasanjo) has taken to new heights of political wizardry. It is an infectious trait and President Jonathan has caught the bug. It was a challenging thing for Pastor Bakare and difficult to comprehend. He made up his mind that he too would take a trip to Aso Rock and find out who teaches them how to “yab” and how the teacher managed to make the grandmaster of “rabbis” to gain new insights into “yabbing.”

He will be an asset to Buhari who does not seem to know how to “yab” at all. Already he is doing fairly well and we should watch him closely - he may one day be better at “yabbis” than OBJ. He is still growing in the art and he is yet to reach his prime.

@balizing99

i dnt knw why u r inclining this subject to sin and casting of stone. This ur man in 2006 clearly told us,IN THE SPIRIT OF GOD that Buhari et al are are part of the old that are decaying. if he spoke in the spirit of God in 2006 then what happened to him in 2011, did he switch sides? has he sold his soul to the dev*l? cos the Spirit of God which he spoke through in 2006 never lies and is unchangeable. why is he advocating/campaigning  for the same old and decaying if truly he is what he claims?
Re: Did Pastor Bakare Actually Say This About Buhari? by Blazing99: 5:35pm On Mar 10, 2011
@ Assme,
There are many people I've had grudges with and spoken unprintable words against few years ago. Right now if you speak against them I'll fight against you. That's life bro. Things change. So does alliances.

Bakare spoke bad of buhari cos he was the kind of pastor that brought politics to his church and anything he felt like spitting out, he spat. Like most pastors majority of what they preach is their philosophy not God's word. But these two people have something in common, they are honest men and have zero-tolerance for corruption. So if they are ready to set aside thier differences to change this country with this zeal, shouldn't it be recommended.

This makes me admire Buhari more. Depite the fact a man insulted you in the past, you still shake his hand to be your running mate. Nigeria should not miss this opportunity to let this great team lead. It's far better than the Goodluck/Sambo team that would probably lead to Sambo contesting for presidency in 2015.
