Homosexual Persons/union? Here Are 5 Things Humilism Says by JideMakinwa(m): 1:35pm On Oct 31, 2020
Being in affectionate, romantic and sexual relationship with other person/persons is one of the most significant - and certainly important - part of an adult's life. Humilism does not fail to recognize this; in fact, some texts (such as Rainbow and Rose) linked to Humilism are fully dedicated to matters of love. The central creed itself (CoH) contains admonition on how people should treat love, including the not-too-popular love between persons of the same sex. What Humilism says about Homosexual Union must be read with the consciousness that these are coming from the Honesty of Man:

1. Who a person loves is none of your business!

Humilism teaches that love is a private affair for someone, and who they love (love defined as 'romantic and sexual relationship') is not the business of any other person. This is not to say one may not be concerned about who other persons have romantic attraction for, but one is not in position to demand any kind of sexual orientation from others. That a person is heterosexual is therefore not praiseworthy; so is homosexual status not shameworthy.

Humilism particularly makes this point bold in the Laws where it clearly prohibits the celebration of any kind of love, whether homosexual or heterosexual, except it is initiated by the lovers themselves. Therefore, one is not expected to be happy or sad for the love life of another person, except they invite one to be and one accepts the invitation. And the lovers cannot invite people except those whom they know will accept the invitation. Wedding ceremonies and anniversaries therefore happen always in a closed group without public light shinning on it. Heterosexual couples are to go about their affairs without 'noise', so are homosexual couples. This is in sharp contrast to current practice in many parts of the world where love life of a person is a matter for public consumption and their ceremonies are public events.

2. Homosexual Couples cannot have kids!

Homosexuals are not to be disallowed from having healthy unions with other persons. But they are certainly, in Humilism, not qualified to have kids. Homosexual couples generally have kids by adoption or donor-surrogacy. Both methods are not allowed in Humilism: the couple should not be entrusted with kids made entirely by other people; they also cannot 'buy' eggs or sperm from other people. Humilism seriously frowns at gifting or selling reproductive recipes to other people (donating eggs or sperm cells).

3. Homosexuals Cannot Lead in State Matters

Humilism is very strict about who is qualified to lead in state matters, and homosexuals are definitely not such people. This is an extension of the condition that those who have no stake in society cannot lead in state matters (elective offices of political importance). This 'stake' is largely 'child, biological child', and homosexuals lack that. The reason for such prohibition is not far-fetched: society is being built for the generations to come to inherit, and those whose genetic pools are not in that generation have nothing to lose if all things go wrong now. This is however not to say that heterosexuals with many kids have any more qualification to lead than heterosexuals with only one kid.

4. Homosexuals Can Be Priests, Mysts, and Mists

In Humilism, homosexuals can lead philosophical, spiritual, and religious communities.

5. Bisexual Polygamy is Bad, Except if Child-free

A bisexual person is attracted to both sexes. This give them some unholy advantage: they can be in polygamy with two or more persons from both sex groups. A bisexual man can have a heterosexual woman (to have child with) and also homosexual man as partners. This is wrong, according to Humilism, except the union will be child-free (in which case it does not concern us anymore).

All in all, the sexual orientation of a person is not a barrier for them in most things, but it does determine if they can have a family and lead a nation.
