MEND Says It Plans To Attack Oil Installations in Lagos And Abuja.

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) issued a statement this evening claiming that the movement plans elaborate attacks against oil installations in the Niger Delta region as well as the federal capital territory and Nigeria's commercial nerve center, Lagos." Shouldn't Nigeria military be preparing for defense by now?. Why is MEND targeting Lagos unnecessarily?. If they must attack somewhere, it should be Abuja and the North.

If they are not satisfied and are unwilling to take peaceful measures, then imo there should be a very harsh response. Violence must be met with even worse violence.

why would mend want to attack lagos. Lagos was not build with oil money. Here is picture of lagos in 1960 below.

Ghana revenue from cocoa is about $6 billion and the yorubas produce nearly as much as Ghana. So if you ask yourself  do the yorubas get $6 billion each year from nigeria govt? No.


you Oyo state budget is 140 billion.  but oyo get just 24 billion from the federal govt. so do you think oyo state is using niger delta money. the 116 billion is revenue generated inside oyo state.

Look lagos budget is over 400 billion  and  lagos get 24 billion from federal govt. do you think the 400 billion is from niger delta oil money. same thing for ondo state with budget of over 100 billion. Only 30 billion is from oil money.

So you can see Yorubaland can stand on its own.


even kano state budget is 122 billion, but only 40 billion is coming from the federal govt. 80 billion is internal generation.

First of all, an attack on Lagos is not an attack on Yoruba. It is an attack on a Nigerian western state. Igbos, Yorubas, Hausas and even Niger-deltans are at risk in such an attack.
No offense. I think nothing will happen if they attack Lagos and Abuja. Instead of threatening fire and brimstone, Lagosians should ensure their safety and pray hard for God to protect innocent lives. As for retaliation, who and where will you bomb in return? Is it Bayelsa? Rivers? Delta? Who will lose more if such attacks start?

if you look at it abuja and the north was build with oil money, so you can see the different. Yorubas can live without any group in nigeria.
