Nigerian militants claim attack on Agip oil facility ABUJA - Nigeria's main militant group said on Wednesday it was responsible for an attack on an onshore oil facility operated by Italian firm Agip and pledged further strikes on oil infrastructure in the coming days. "This attack and similar attacks on pipelines and flow stations which will take place in the coming days are a reminder to the Nigerian government and general public not to take our threats for granted," the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) said in a statement emailed to media. The Nigerian army said earlier local youths were suspected to have been behind the attack on Agip's Clough Creek oil flowstation late on Tuesday. http://www.jpost.com/Headlines/Article.aspx?id=212478 |

You expect every single pipeline and flow station to be protected? Not possible. The mighty militants won a very difficult battle with the well trained pipeline. Such happens in war. |

What has Jonathan done for the people of Niger Delta since he have been President? Without sentiment, Buhari will win Jonathan's home state. Everyone vote Buhari - lets fix Nigeria and make it united and great again. |

Mai Suya:Very odd indeed. We now know where the loyalty of Uncle Jona lies. It's easier to arrest NPLF leaders than to apprehend MEND na! SO you really can't blame the fisherman that much. |

, destroying infrastructure in your own heartland. My dear, it is obvious that this is ALL politics. Lets, look at it. The Niger Delta have not been opportune to be at the helm of power at the national level. This is seen as the reason for the continuous exploitation and neglect of the region, which is what they claim to be fighting. Now, their own man and son is there and has the best opportunity of continuing for some more years. GEJ may not be the best man from that region but for NOW he is the best opportunity EVERYONE & ANYONE from that region has. You may be quarreling with someone in your hometown but when you meet the same person in a foreign land you become friends. As it is now, If not GEJ, who is the best choice for the people of Niger Delta like myself. MEND's current threats are political. |

kinharold: So MEND's previous threats are cultural? FYI, a freedom fighter those not issue political threats but liberation threats. |

haka_nai: A very good development indeed! NPLF are as useless to the country as John Togo. They all operate on the same criminal principles of fear and terror. |
