In summary, a 24 year old lass and 24 year old lad who got employed by Guinness Nigeria as entry-level staff will not earn the same amount of salary when they are 34 because the lass will take maternity leaves. During the same period, the man has increased in ranks, experience, corporate leverage, training etc. A woman who in her working life birthed four children would have spent one year at home because of maternity leaves. On the other hand, the man spends same one year working. All things been equal, the man will out earn the woman. Single ladies on average earn more than their married counterparts due to that reason. It is called the motherhood tax.

IamWonderful:
For what, she knows the rules that it is after two years that she suppose to marry and be pregnant but she violated it, it is quite disgusting and irresponsible, the police service should lead by example to others, dubious and promiscuous character shouldn't be allowed in the organization, those calling for the application of the same laws to men are ignorant of the fact that men don't bring their partner's pregnancy to work and it affects work in no way

Best comment so far. Banks do this too. As a lady you are made to sign a bond not to be pregnant within, at least, the first 2 years from the date of employment even if the lady is married.

Some lawyers are sometimes very confused and very arrogant with their supposed knowledge.

we are talking about the force, you are talking about guinness. In the force, you are being paid even when you are on maternity leave, if promotion is being given to your mates while you are on maternity leave, you will be promoted also. What where you saying again?

If that is the case in the force, no wahala. Probably why the public sector is not productive. Where people are paid according to how many years they have spent and not their competences or productivity.

now you se why they put the compulsory two years before marriage? Also you must be married before being pregnant? First, you can't just join a job and give birth in the next 9months, if that privilege is given to everybody, what will the outcome be for an organization that pays you even when you are on maternity or sick leave? It's just like you are receiving free salary without even putting in any form of work.
