It is not revenue accruing to the FG.
The terms of its return are clearly specified in the MOU signed between two sovereign States and NIGERIA is bound to ensure its observance.
Delta State for obvious reasons stood idly by while NIGERIA fought to recover the loot from Thief Ibori. It denied its coffers were looted by The Oghara Thief. The Supreme Court of Nigeria ruled that it was not Thief Ibori from Oghara but another Ibori who poo poo all over Delta State Treasury.
Now folks say it belongs to Delta State Government! Even Delta State Government has been mum on the matter! Silly thought indeed!
Nigerian court lacks jurisdiction. Urhobo Water should approach The Hague instead!

Hrm Babatunde Ogala , SAN , wrote on Delta State’s recovered loot:

“The money was tracked, investigated and recovered by the British Government under British Law in British soil from James Ibori and his associates and family as suspected proceeds of crime.

The British Government approached the courts and James Ibori and his associates were prosecuted and convicted in London. The court also ordered that the money be forfeited to the British Government. Ibori and his associates did not appeal. Neither did the Delta State Government lay claim to the funds. So the money thereafter became vested in the British government.

So the money thereafter belonged to the British Government.

The British Government out of benevolence elected to release some of the money to the federal government of Nigeria with certain conditionalites contained in an MOU that it be spent on the completion of 3 projects. Any attempt by the FG to use the funds for anything outside these 3 projects will be a breach of rhe MOU entered into with the owners and donor of the money- the UK Government.

The £4.2 million belonged to the UK Govt and no other and no one can dictate to them how they spend their money.

I hope this very simple narrative helps.”

The federal government is a fraud the money belong to the Delta people.Delta people should block any further resources exploitation from the state till the fund is returned back to the state
They are always fast to cheat southerners but you won’t hear any story if it happened in the North
OR rather use the money to contruct all the federal projects in Delta not to spend it elsewhere
But Delta State Government has denied owning the money? Okowa has not said a word.

Ibori na Mumu man
I am partly from Delta state
If that man had used half of the cash he stole to fix delta
In all the 8 years he was governor, if he has used half of that money to fix only roads delta would have had better roads than any state in Nigeria
If he had used for security, delta would be the safest state in Nigeria
If he had used it for sanitation of building industries delta would be the neatest and third most industrialised state in Nigeria

I will never understand why some Deltans who are victims of this robbery are supporting the armed robber because he is from their state it's a pity
The same way many oppressed ikwerres are supporting the tout Wike

I will NEVER understand it, because I know it is all of us tax they are stealing, it is all of us who are suffering the effects of the corruption. No jobs, insecurity, pollution and so on

It affects every single one of us, one way or another.

I'll give you an example of how bad leadership affects you in sectors you don't even realise

Cost of land: look at Google maps, empty land full yakata all over Nigeria from Sokoto to Rivers, yet you can't find cheap house to rent, you can't find good land to buy.
But land is still expensive why? Because infrastructure, development, electricity, roads, security etc have not reached most parts of Nigeria thanks to bad leadership, so you'll be willing to pay hundreds of millions to stay on one over priced small fast sinking piece of infertile land in traffic Mecca of West Africa somewhere in lagos be it banana island, V.I etc you can't justify the price, it's still the same open drainage, the same Nepa poles, the same poor waste disposal and littering going on by the sides and center of the road just bigger houses daz all. And yet you pay more than what people living middle-class lives in Wyoming, Georgia, Arkansas etc pay for their similar sized better maintained, 24/7 Electricity, hot running water enabled homes pay. Smh and you think you are a big man with your big giant concrete fence and ugly looking barbed wires hanging on the fence and protectors on every window.

High cost of food: we have fertile land, did you know that more than 80% of Nigeria's land is fit for agriculture? But we aren't doing that why? High cost of agricultural equipments thanks to govmtt policies that make it difficult to import vehicles including farm vehicles like tractors, tillers etc. And gridlock at the sea ports as well as high cost of importation.

Lack of security for farmers from Fulani herdsmen, and communal clashes and lack of storage facilities, lack of good road networks to transport goods and police Checkpoints.

Everything around you can be linked to bad governance but some of us still FOOLISHLY support the very people who have kept us in POVERTY and SUFFERING even tho they don't know we exist simply because he is from my tribe or he is from my religion. Some of us deserve this suffering we are suffering in this Naija.

To get visa is miracle that you need to go to church and give testimony about whereas getting visa in other countries is as easy as just showing up to buy toothpaste or milk. Imagine an American, south African, European, Egyptian, Kenyan etc giving testimony that they got visa to Nigeria or USA or Egypt or anywhere else.
so because ibori did not do all these things you have mentioned here, the money is not suppose to be return to the delta state government? tell me one saint in buhari led administration? injustice is Injustice.... let the federal government respect the law simple....

This money beloongs to Delta state.

Thief Ibori is still in control of the Delta state government, he will still collect the money back, if given to Delta state,.....meaning all the noise and efforts the FG used to get this money will be in vain........

Let the FG being the father use the money for Federal project, afterall all states can will also benefit from the federal project.....

Lesson learnt: use the state money for the people not to steal and subject your people to high level of poverty........

The money was already gone if not for the fg......

Afterall Delta government said Ibori did not steal their money and no money was missing..........

So?

Abacha did not loot, all that money is FG money used in the late 90’s to go around the sanctions placed on Nigeria, a man that is under sanction will carry his money & go and lodge it with the people that sanctioned him? Try & think objectively. General Sani Abacha that never left Nigeria for one day, will go & deposit his money in an Oyibo man’s Country when he has Chaugory & Chaugory here in Nigeria?

The money should be returned to Delta state after ibori's boy leaves office or it should be returned and strictly monitored every 1 naira accounted for or federal government should use it to do something for the people of Delta state.
In buhari's administration Amaechi Minister of transport is doing well the itakpe - warri line has been completed, Bonny bridge and road linking bonny to Bodo to pH has been completed, the Bonny sea port and a new University has been proposed, also the ground breaking for the eastern line and the award of the contract to the Portuguese contractor has been done. The coastal line has been approved.
The transport uni in Daura is currently ongoing, the Lagos to Kano line has been completed, the airports in pH, Lagos and Abuja have all been renovated and many many more if you follow Amaechi on Twitter you'll be getting updates almost every week on how far the projects are going.

One of the conditions for the UK repatriating the Ibori loot was that the money must be tied to certain federal projects which include the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the Abuja-Kano rail and the Second Niger Bridge and a Memorandum of Understanding had been signed between both parties

And here is another good angle to this looted money by the criminal call Ibori.

Words of a wise man.

And you are very right with that.
Don't mind the UK and the Federal Government jare.
Na so dem dey do.

Are they no federal government projects in Delta state that d those money could have been channelled to?
