Consultations were made Babangida and Abusalam Abubakar former two heard of state were championing the course.Great Igbo leaders like Nwobodp ,Orji Uzo Kali Ike Nwachukwu, Chuba Okadigbo etc were highly involved in this arrangements
Finally Obasanjo who was recovering from his ordeal in prison, sick and poor was called and annionted that was how he became president .Even Yorubas did not vote for him.
