Prove otherwise please, South East still have alot of work to do but that doesn't mean we are your mate in education, In JAMB, WAEC, School enrollment, NYSC ETC. Look the bus have left you guys behind, even in your region we are still a dominant factor. So prove otherwise

Of course definitely South East would because it's the region with lesser population in Nigeria...

Are you lot aware that we have more igbos in Lagos and ogun compared to igbos In ebonyi even though Lagos and ogun are not an Eastern state . The reason for the high drop out in south west is simply because of the high population and high presence of non indigenes...

Can tell you most of the dropout in Lagos, oyo and ogun are mostly people from the north and some other few non indigenes because of their high presence in the states

And if you notice states like osun, ondo and ekiti have very low drop out because most of the people there are indigenes.

In conclusion the reason why south east is having lower than south west is because the west is by far more populated with lot of non indigenes

Ebonyi has a population of over 4 million and Ogun has a population of over 4million. How then can more Igbos be in Ogun than Ebonyi ? You guys should wake up, realities of Education have changed decades ago.

That is because Yorubas have been leading in those aspects and they have gone to the other sectors to continue their leadership role in Education in Nigeria.
Yeah!! Other sectors? Which sectors are those? Amala, gbegiri, and ewedu sectors I reckon? Imagine if there were no statistics? All you amala grubbers would have been peddling these your age-long lies from your lagos ibadan expressway gutter media.

I have known you for sometime on nairaland here. You work with this, you serve in the North,SW blah,blah...a chronic false story teller.
Just believe whatever you like.Yorubas continue to lead in Education in Nigeria even as Nigerians abroad.

It is only Yorubas that have up to 9 geniuses that have gotten 5.0 cgp perfect scores.
They are the only ones excluding Igbos that have up to 5 youngest phd holders in the world etc.
Igbos should continue with their catch up..
My friend that phrase ended in 1920 , the igbos caught up with the yoruba's and overtook them, the yoruba's are the ones catching up since then

Brother , after the civil war Yoruba people took over the lead in education and rightly so , because the Igbo were defeated , oppressed and impoverished. Yes , you took advantage of our failure in the war and amassed wealth and dominated all sectors. Yes , it's true you led and exploited the system until when civilian government returned and people like Peter Obi took hold of government.

I can't say for sure the statistics are accurate representation of realities neither can I speak for other SE states but for Anambra. I know Anambra education transformation not just because its my beloved ancestral land but also because I have followed the progress the state has made in education...Brother , Anambra has gone way too far ahead of every other state and this is based on evidence. The handing of schools to the mission and communities is a masterstroke that put my dear state in the lead...I couldn't believe the transformation of Mater Amabilis Secondary school , Umuoji. The schools was completely transformed in all aspects and you can see the result. Hearing the students speaks was very impressive.

As it stands , presently , the SE are ahead for obvious reasons. We have done more than you when it comes to administration. Compare Osun to Ebonyi , Anambra to Ogun(with all the billions), Enugu to Oyo and you will see we have made more progress compared to where we were after the devastating war that destroyed our land. You have your moment but we are back on track to compete , once more and you better be ready.

Nigeria statisticians are jokers.

This should be done per capital and not just the numbers coz it’s not telling enough story.

If if NW has 20m people and NE have 5m people.

If NW has 200k out of school and NE has 100k out of school students.

Can we say NW has high rate of dropout than NE based on this?

For better way on how to tackle this, they should compute it in rate relative to population so each state can at least measure success across span of time coz population figures are not always static.

I agree with you bro. But we need to do something about education in the west, especially Oyo and Ogun. Seems our leaders are sleeping.

post=105177696:
Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Education has disclosed that the number of out-of-school children in the country had reduced to 10,193,918.
The reason South East have low numbers of out of school children is because most of the child bearing Igbos are either in the SS,SW, and North hustling thereby increasing the data to the population of their host community.

So number of professors automatically makes y'all the most educated?
I've seen a pattern, when we discuss education the yorubas will come up with number of professors, something wey you fit get without merit for this country. No one cares about your number of professors, absolutely no one. Learn to send your kids to school

WAEC has never done state by state for any of the 5 countries it represents. It is still the fraudulent Igbo catch-up-Yorubas-by-all-means fraudsters that have been posting the falsehood..

Those Professors show that it will take forever for Igbos to catch up the Yorubas in most life endeavours including Education.

Igbos have been going all over the place that they have more professors than the Yorubas grin
Another falsehood.

The truth is Yoruba Professors even almost triple that of the Igbos.

Go to the nuc website and download the Directory of Professors in Nigeria. You will think it is only Yorubas that are Profs in Nigeria.

This is the link.Go down to download the pdf.

Learn to send your kids to school, they've dropped national stats for y'all to learn but you prefer to argue and stay at the same spot.
Send your kids to school so that your generation Don't end up like you. Who's playing catch up. The Igbos are more educated both home and abroad, use Google
You can't fake education, if your brain no carry e no carry, if you can't get admission you can't get admission, and it's from the grassroot like this; out of school children
