Training resumes monday. This off-season is taking forever. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by nateevs(m): 7:11pm On Jun 28, 2011 |
@Dyabman. I didn't get to see the game. I was in a remote area in the Scottish mountains. The people there believe the internet is a myth. . I will catch up on highlights. @Coogar. Chelsea unveil AVB to the press tomorrow. Training resumes tomorrow. Rumours building up that Malouda may be the first to leave. @Ibime. The off-season is dragging like crazy. Pre-season match against Vitesse for 7th July, has been cancelled. It looks like the game was cancelled by Chelsea. It looks like AVB cancelled as he would have had only about 10 days to train his squad before the first game. Next game is 16th July against Portsmouth. |

Roberto Di Matteo appointed as CFC first team assistant coach. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by nateevs(m): 11:17am On Jun 29, 2011 |
Yep. Great bringing back a Chelsea legend. And one who believes in positive football. This must be the youngest technical staff in the PL with Steve Holland promoted to first team coach. The interview was great!. I loved his answer to Mr Wenger. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by diggz: 11:32am On Jun 29, 2011 |
@ Nateevs, didn't see d interview.I beg na wetin b him reply to Mr Wenger? |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by nateevs(m): 2:12pm On Jun 29, 2011 |
Though he stated he is not a confrontational person and has lots of respect for the PL managers, when asked about the question of how comfortable he felt with the shelling out of millions in Chelsea as opposed to the Arsenal style (Wenger grumbling about Chelsea's spending), he said in summary, there's is no single way of attaining success. Arsenal like to do it their way and we love to do it our way. It left me wondering what kind of success Arsenal have had doing it their way. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by nateevs(m): 2:18pm On Jun 29, 2011 |
There goes my Thiago to Chelsea dreams. He's just signed a new contract with Barca for two more years and his buy out clause is 90 miliion Euros. Let's hang this one now. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by ritchboy(m): 2:43pm On Jun 29, 2011 |
nateevs: And what success have Chelsea had? With all Roman's millions you are still trophyless. . . I dey |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by debosky(m): 4:19pm On Jun 29, 2011 |
nateevs: Didn't I tell you there was little or no chance of him coming to Chelski? Besides, what is 90m Euros to Roman? Doesn't he spend that feeding his dogs annually? PS - Thunder fire Barca for wanting 90m euros for Alcantara and bidding £35m for Cesc. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by dayokanu(m): 5:05pm On Jun 29, 2011 |
debosky: How much would Cesc be worth? If not for Barcas desperation Cesc normally would go for half that amount = 18m |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by debosky(m): 5:26pm On Jun 29, 2011 |
dayokanu: You can't buy Cesc's left pinkie for 18m |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by coogar: 5:54pm On Jun 29, 2011 |
debosky: has it not occured to you they placed a buy-out clause on him so wenger won't come and poach the youngster for 6 yrs and later place a ridiculous price on him like he is doing to cesc? i also heard his dad(mazinho) hates wenger with a passion. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by dayokanu(m): 5:58pm On Jun 29, 2011 |
debosky: Leave Barcas desperation out of this, In a fair market Cesc would go for 18m. Sneijder went for 13 and Robben for 22, That should give you a fair value of what prices should be |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by coogar: 6:05pm On Jun 29, 2011 |
dayokanu: £18 million? hell no. cesc's current market value is about £33m -£35m. cesc is younger than sneijder and robben and he is playing his trade in the premier league. how much did madrid pay to chelsea to snap robben in 2006(when british pounds was mightier than the euros)? |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by nateevs(m): 6:18pm On Jun 29, 2011 |
24 million pounds. One of the few times Chelsea actually made a profit on a player. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by nateevs(m): 6:20pm On Jun 29, 2011 |
debosky: What do you mean didn't you tell me? It was public knowledge that he was on the last year of his contract. And it was also widely reported he was likely to sign a contract extension. Scouts know this and if Chelsea wanted him, they would have approached long time ago. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by coogar: 6:22pm On Jun 29, 2011 |
nateevs: which was 35 million euros back then. these days british pounds and the euros are neck and neck. . . . .so cesc's value is around £33-35 million. |

Madrid overpays for players on the regular |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by debosky(m): 11:15am On Jun 30, 2011 |
nateevs: You claimed he liked Chelski didn't you? Weren't you the one jumping up and down like a rabbit on heat about Alcantara joining Chelski after Cesc goes to Barca? This is what you said: nateevs: I told you that there was little or no chance of him coming to Chelski, and if he moved at all it would be to Arsenal as a part-exchange for Cesc. Admit it was a wild dream with no chance of coming true, and I told you so. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by debosky(m): 11:28am On Jun 30, 2011 |
coogar: Even the Schneider comparisons are off - how many years did Schneider have on his contract when he moved? Did he have 4 years left? A player's value is often set by his importance to his current side, and not by perceived ability alone. This importance is what set such high prices for Ronaldo, Torres and Carroll, in addition to their ability level. In terms of importance, I'd compare Cesc to Luis Figo at Barca, and he moved for £36m in 2000. Cesc is EASILY worth more than £40m in the current market. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by coogar: 11:50am On Jun 30, 2011 |
debosky: stop mixing schneider(retired german) with wesley sneijder(they are 2 different players) and a veteran like you should know better.
ohh please. . . . .how much did man utd flog van nistelrooy to real madrid? was nistelrooy not important to man utd? forget the importance to current side otherwise van der sar woulda cost united £100 million when fulham sold him to ferguson. a player's value is set by what is left on his contract, his skill-set and most importantly his age. other stuffs are secondary.
ronaldo is an anomaly. . . .chelsea overpaid for torres and andy caroll's transfer is a chain reaction of what happened to torres. newcastle knew liverpool had torres' £50 million in their kitty so they were spurred on to make a ridiculous demand.
you are a goat. luis figo was easily in the top 3 players in the world in 2000. cesc fabregas is not in the top 20. at best, cesc is not worth more than £35 million in the current market. £40 million is pushing one's luck! |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by debosky(m): 11:58am On Jun 30, 2011 |
coogar: Ignore that.
By all three measures, Fabregas represents exceptional value - a 4 year contract, 24 years old and immensely skilled.
Even if it was a chain reaction, the demand for £50m was made by Liverpool as their estimation of Nando's value. Arsenal's estimation is clearly far above the paltry £35m being offered, especially when Sanchez was going for 38m euros, or Pastore for 50m euros.
I referenced Figo in terms of his importance to the Barca team. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by nateevs(m): 12:09pm On Jun 30, 2011 |
debosky: This is first class crap. I stated he could join Chelsea and that the "quotes" interest me. He said he would leave if Fab joins, and will not be interested in a make-weight transfer. I had quotes to get excited about him choosing Chelsea. You on the other claim there's little or no chance of him joining us based on what? You pluck sh.1t out of thin air. More of a feeling than anything. He signs a new deal and you claim to have known from the start? Based on what? |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by coogar: 12:13pm On Jun 30, 2011 |
debosky: what about his dodgy hamstring? it seems his legs are gone. wenger has overused the boy. . . .how many appearances did he cop last season and the penultimate season?
torres - immensely skilled, relatively young, had 2 yrs left on his contract. . . .liverpool also sold to a rival club in the league(abominable act). is sanchez going for 38m euros? who would pay that for him? udinese must be having a laugh.
i agree but figo was also the best player in the world then but cesc is not. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by debosky(m): 12:57pm On Jun 30, 2011 |
Whether it is a feeling, an inkling or my highly developed perspicacity, I did kibosh your dreams of Thiago a while back and that has turned out to be the case. I said there is little or no chance of him joining Chelski, and now he is definitely not joining Chelski. What else is there to be said? |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by nateevs(m): 2:06pm On Jun 30, 2011 |
debosky: After this, there's no point having a discussion on this topic any longer. It's clear you are out of your depth. Who the hell is Schneider by the way? |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by Ibime(m): 2:13pm On Jun 30, 2011 |
Who said Pastore is worth €50m? Ninjas need to stop reading rumours. Zamperini or whatever his name is specialises is talking bollocks about a value of €50m which he made up in his fantasies. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by nateevs(m): 2:17pm On Jun 30, 2011 |
Ibime: I honestly have chosen to totally ignore those comment. Zamperini or whatever his name is is a complete joke. He needs to be shot. At first he said Pastore is worth 90m Euros. Everyone's jumping on the big money valuation because of FFP. How can Pastore be worth 50m? 25m tops is what should be offered for him and that's because I see some quality in there. Dude has not set the world alight for goodness' sake! Meanwhile news floating about suggest that Palermo have received a big money bid for Javier. Under g sources suggesting it's Chelsea. |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by nateevs(m): 2:22pm On Jun 30, 2011 |
In other news, it's being reported that Chelsea have signed 17 year-old Barcelona striker Gael Etock. He will be loaned to Sporting Lisbon for the next season. |
