Aboki brain that's not how to attract foreign direct investment. You don't threaten or coerce people to do business in your country. You make your country a business enabling environment so investments can come. I wonder if State's decide to take over their resources where you people will run to. Quota system is not real education, please pick up a book and learn. FreeStuffsNG: 1 Like |

NGpatriot: Ok. So why did the minister go to the US to seek a solution. If twitter is losing, why have they not come to Nigeria to negotiate as the govt offered them? Since you don't agree with the statistics, why don't you come up with your own let's see. The internet tool used to arrive at the conclusion is named in the Op. |

tollyboy5: Hahaha... Good morning sir. Incidentally, I was asked this same question personally on a group platform a day after the court pronouncement won by Rivers State. My views were that most of these laws handed down by the military need to be challenged and I wish the brilliant initiative taken by HE Wike was led by my governor, HE Sanwo Olu, because Lagos , historically, has been at the forefront of the fight for the entrenchment of true federalism. The only thing I wished HE Wike would have done differently is not to plagiarise the FIRS Laws including the 7.5% VAT of FIRS. I suggested then that he should have proposed a lesser percentage and I reckon Lagos got such cue and settled at 6%. The reality I am seeing now is that states currently lack the capacity to immediately start the collection of VAT and if they insist on starting immediately, we may return to the chaotic system again so, in my opinion, I will rather suggest a phased period of transition and collaboration between the FIRS and the states IRS boards. The politicians can also give more chance for the professionals to manage this situation. I believe they will manage it better than the politicians. 1 Like |

FreeStuffsNG: Twitter targets Nigerians for roles The Twitter crooks are tying to swindle Nigeria by going to Ghana, it was a crooked move to hide in Ghana and make all its money in Nigeria. Nigeria is their main target and market, but they don't want to pay taxes and fees in Nigeria, even after recruiting our talents... Thank God, Nigeria is countering their dumb moves. If Nigeria is your main market, and you are making money within our walls, you must establish and office and pay all the applicable taxes just like the nest man or any other business in Nigeria. It said the ideal candidate to occupy the positions “should have a deep, non-partisan, understanding of Nigerian news and politics.” 4 Likes |

They keep posting these numbers, but I don’t know who the ban affects apart from Twitter. If this news was true the government would quickly revert the decision. See the oil subsidy protests for example, when the daily costs were evident after two days, the government yielded and came to an agreement before the end of a week. 2 Likes |

What a fake statistics, and pathetically some gullible Nigerians believe it. Who loses the money? Twitter had never been paying a dime to Nigeria government before it was banned, so evidently, government did not lose any money. Nigerian people that were using Twitter for their business have made use of other platforms, none of them complained of any loss. So, where this did unfortunate figure come? Did the Twitter ban stop us from buying data? We continue to buy data and telecoms continue to make their money. N247.61 Billion, Haba! Kilode? Two Hundred and Forty Seven BILLION, not million. Woe betides the liars. 3 Likes |

NGpatriot: The report uses analytical tools from the World Bank, ITU, Eurostat and the U.S. census. The result is what is published for you as news. If you want more info about their parameters, you can write a mail to them to request for such instead of coming online to denigrate what you can obviously do no better than nor have even the basic knowledge of. Check yourself. You have not said anything remotely intelligent to counter the report since. Only casting insane aspersions like an average political urchin. |
