This issue has been a serious issue for Turkey for a while. Supporters of Gulen have been harassing the Turkish president any time he travels abroad. There was a serious clash between Gulen's supporters and Erdogan's bodyguards in the US a few years ago.

Gulen's supporters shouting, "Terrorist! Erdogan" during the Turkish president's visit to Washington. Some of his bodyguards attacked the protesters and Wahsington DC police and Secret Service agents tried to separate them.

Often times, there are no good guys or bad guys like in the movies. There are hardly ever a fine line between the combating forces too. WW2 saw Americans & Italians shooting each other only for them to become allies at the end! At the tail end of same WW2, the British actually deployed Japanese soldiers in India and Burma (would you believe that?)!!!

The Turkey backed FSA is in reality not a single fighting force but a loose coalition of about 25 different and often warring groups! At least 18 of these groups have also been funded, trained and armed by the USA too! The FSA, along with the Kurdish YPG were the main forces that pushed ISIS out of northern Syria. And, oh yes! Some of the groups that eventually coalesced into ISIS are known to have been funded by both the USA and Turkey at the beginning of the Syrian civil war!!!

What did I say earlier about war again? It's a crazy business, my friend. May we never witness it in large scale in Nigeria again!

For example UAE, Saudi and almost all the Mideast supported rebels and Terrorists against Syria president in 2011/2012 but when Russia started the massive military campaign in 2015.
All the so called Rebels supporters and suppliers like USA and Saudi were shocked.
But after 2019, when those Supporters saw Russia and her allies were winning massive then those countries started withdrawing one after the other.
Now UAE and Saudi ministers have met Syria government officials.

Another good example; after 20 years of war between the US led coalition and the Taliban in Afghanistan, it was the same Taliban that had to create a secure perimeter around the Kabul airport to protect evacuating coalition forces and their civilian supporters from ISIS infiltration!!!

So, in summary, Turkey is not a sponsor of terrorism. Turkey is only pursuing her national interest like we all do. Again, war is crazy business. Rumour remains that, despite the unbelievability of it, Israel provides covert funding for some ISIS forces who are engaged in fighting against Israel's mortal enemy, Iran and their satellite forces!
