Now if such a scenario occured then it would be one of the easiest military adventures undertaken by the Americans.Firstly for succesfull military invasion to be launched into Nigeria the U.S airforce will have to bomb key cities in nigeria like Enugu,Port Harcourt,Kaduna,Onitsha,Kano,FCT Abuja.

This thread could end up being useful when Nigeria falls out with the USA over the AFRICOM issue.Remember that Nigeria is against it and the US is hell bent on establishing  a military base in West africa.Imagine such an issue leading to military threats against Nigeria if it still keeps proving stubborn resisting american"s intention to  establish AFRICOM forces in West Africa.

You really dont need to be like Saddam before you have a fall out with the Americans.Sometimes disagreements over policies could lead to beef which might result in war or political assasination.Remember President Lumumba?
He was assasinated by the Western powers and branded a communist because he was against some of their unpopular policies.Now if for example Goodluck Jonathan is against the Americans establishing  an AFRICOM military base in West africa this could lead to the americans having some sort of resentment against Goodluck and this could result to anything.

If America were to start bombing Nigeria, its the Niger Delta and other oil producing area's that will be affected the most.

America is only interested in protecting its strategic assets (Nigerian Oil) and doesn't give a damn about 'Boko Haram' etc. If anything, such groups will be used as the excuse for their intervention.

I dont think they will waste bombs up north as they are not guaranteed any financial returns. Just like in Afghanistan, they are only interested in particular strategic areas such as 'Helmand' province where heroin in produced.

If it were to happen they will come up against little resistance - In fact some people in these areas will welcome the bombing and even start pointing to their enemies houses for the 'Yanks' to bomb.

They dont need to set up a military base as they can run everything from a navy vesell located just of the coast.
