I am from Warri. We don't have problems with the ordinary northerners doing business in Warri, just like we don't have problem with igbos running their shops all over Warri. The main problem of the north is the open border situation of the whole region. I went to illela and you would not even know where the border with between Niger and Nigeria lies. All sorts of things and people flood into Nigeria without checks. So bandits from all over west and even north Africa flood into Nigeria with guns, drugs and crime.
The politicians (and military hierarchy) of course exploit the the situation to for political purposes and embezzled increased security votes.
