We had been seeking an independent West before independence. Reason Britain was not comfortble with Yoruba leaders in control of government.

We saw a "red" flag circumstance in 1966 and because we were savvy and wise, didn't think the time was right.

ndigbo wanted a "One Nigeria". They used thug mentality to grab it and failed, woefully!  Then they backtracked and said, "you know what, maybe we should just get Biafra. They failed in tat as well.
