There are a lot of things that we can’t control or things that the other person does that make us mad. Both of these situations can make us want to be in charge of or comment on everything the other person does, which can make us feel bad. Though, would you rather have someone tell you what to do all the time? In this case, you are not their parent. If he or she is an adult, treat them like one.

We are all made of flesh. We all do things that go wrong. Do not put too much pressure on your partner to live up to a false standard. For those of us who have unrealistically high expectations for ourselves, this can be especially hard. But that’s a different subject.

3. Not getting into fights.

Getting into fights isn’t something most of us want to do, so it can be tempting to just sweep all of the problems under the rug. When that plan is used, things get worse and worse, so it doesn’t work out well. This will eventually lead to a fight, or a breakup with the other person not knowing what went wrong. Communication is very important in any relationship, and it should not be skipped over or pushed aside.
