When they tell you that Nigeria is a hopeless country una think say na curse. It's a statement of fact. The average Nigerian is EXTREMELY corrupt. It's in the DNA of the Nigerian society.

I don't think corruption can be eliminated from this country. Please do all sort of things given any little power.

Go to TBS on the island by 5pm and say you want to enter BRT, you will meet at least over a hundred people on ground, at times these drivers will just park their buses and tell you they are not ready to go yet only for you to find out later that they were actually waiting for somebody who wasn't on the queue. It happened twice this last week. We were all waiting to take bus to Berger on Wednesday, only for the bus driver to say he is not going yet. We waited for about 30min and the next thing we saw a lady entered the bus without even clocking in and then the driver decided it's time for others to start entering the bus. Same thing happened on Friday with the same lady delaying the bus for more than an hour. We are just pathetic in this nation.

Corruption is systemic and endemic! The bitter truth and in fact most saddening truth is that, those waiting to steal is larger than those already stealing which further dims the forlorn hope of resurrecting this country.

Save for the bandits attack, we wouldn't have gotten a wind of the level of corruption going on in the railway sector. Disparaging figures of passengers from 960 to 360 to not even equating those who paid to the eventual occupants lends credence to the fact that almost everyone is corrupt except a very few in this country with morals.

As I write, they haven't still gotten the exact figure. It thus shows how wishy-washy the affairs of every sector has been- it's been two weeks and yet nothing concrete has been done including punishing the erring officials at fault.

God won't come down to revive us, the duty is ours!

I concur with you. The train capacity is 900+ and its always full to capacity. Only 360 tickets was declared officially. I can categorically tell you that more than 600 tickets was sold over the counter. Now money of 600 tickets just went to the pockets of some individuals.

600 x N1500 (average) = N900,000 daily going to the pockets of some individuals. Corruption everwhere and no one is asking questions.

My major problem is their customers service. They will never reply to any query you send to them.

Every government service is deliberately structured to facilitate corruption. There is a government website I am supposed to register and pay for a work license on. This time last year website was down. A year later, still down. Only way you get your licence is to pay someone to do it.

These are not accidents.

In a private business heads will roll for this. But govt is full of pompous jokers living way above their means, so here we are

Bubu mata na do as I say, not do as I do. I've lost trust in this man the day I learnt how was going to the UK for medical treatment after he had vowed to stop political office holders from doing same, should he become president during lagos Town Hall meeting ahead of 2015 polls

The bitter truth is that it's only "hungry, poverty stricken" igbos that want a fresh start ( 2nd chance) that are wailing highest for the Biafra land and carry tribalism for head.

The likes of cubana, emoney... Name all the big igbo Lords do not give a wink about NK or imaginary Biafra. Who wants to go start life a fresh again under uncertainty when you are already a mega millionaire under Nigeria?

Ps: I'm an Edo man, STOP THE TRIBALISM.

The key reason they live the way they do is because their minds are undeveloped. As soon as their minds develop to just that of a sensible teenager in a rational world, they will see beyond tribes and strive for better lives for all.

Very interesting, just as expected.
It's hard for Africans to do things rightly.
Something must go wrong
I still think it's because we are different people who are forced to live together.
The solution might still lie in the disintegration of the entity called Nigeria.
The only reason why Nigeria is still together is corruption.
The thieving politicians know they won't stand a chance if all regions are allowed to go.
It's very sad!

You are right my brother. It used to be football and corruption that kept us together as a country. Alas, corruption kill football so we only have corruption keeping us all together.

Just thinking out LOUD. How on earth will Nigeria pay back the loans taken from China to build the rail lines and buy trains with this corruption attitudes of ministries and government agencies. No escape route for Nigeria been enslave by China at long last.

Increase the railway staff salary and their allowances as this will help to reduce corruption in the system.

U can't buy those train tickets online. Don't let anyone fool U. They hoard the tickets and sell them offline at the stations. We all want to pretend the govt isn't aware of it. People have been complaining ryt from when the services started but what has been done about it? Nothing.

Exactly what they did with the NIN thing. People have been complaining since last year about being exploited by NIMC staff, even at the Local Government. Photo and video evidences everywhere, but FG refuses to act. Not one of these miscreants has been arrested and made to face the law, yet you expect total compliance from people. Una fada!
