It's the Admin Account.

Try booting from the media you used in installing the windows.
If it is your files and documents and not application software that you are after, you can slave them on another PC OR place your HDD in an external HDD pack and copy out all your files. I dont think Admin Password can be bypassed, unless your PC/Windows account is linked online

Format the system..

As I said earlier, the files are still there to recover. The person to format the system can do a backup for you (e fit charge you small money sha for the extra work)

Your Windows profile is corrupt.
I assume your local admin account is enabled, you can login with that and use Regedit to edit your profile.

The exact same thing happened to me yesterday.

In my own case I don't have a password on my system. So when I failed to sign in, I just turned off my laptop.

When I turned it back on, I noticed that all my files were gone and my laptop was reset. My life saver was the fact that my hard drive was partitioned, so my major files were still there. Later I found out that the files on the other half of my hard drive I thought were gone were actually just moved to a different path.

So I tried to start setting up my laptop to the way it was before the reset and when I was done working on my laptop I signed out.

By the time I signed back in I found that my laptop had been restored to the way it was before the reset and all my files were back to their original destinations and everything was just as if nothing had happened to my system.

I believe this all happened because my hard drive was partitioned. I wonder what would have happened if it wasn't partitioned.. I would have probably permanently lost all my files.
