Ifeanyi Onejeme Debunks Fake News About Peter Obi's Investment In SABMiller by Super1759: 11:38pm On Jun 21, 2022
DOLLAR VALUE OF PETER OBI’s INVESTMENT FOR ANAMBRA IS NOW ABOUT US$3.7million OR US$5.3 million depending on exchange rate

Given the repeated fake news about the current dollar value of the investment by the Peter Obi administration in SABMiller, it has become imperative to clarify the matter in public interest.

The Peter Obi Administration invested the sum of N1,955,535,247.00 (equivalent of approximately US$12,616,356.43 at the then average CBN exchange rate of N155.00/$1.00) in Intafact Beverages Limited, a green-field brewery being set up in Onitsha by SABMiller Breweries of South Africa in 2012. The Naira equivalent of this investment is stated and carried in the Reports of the State Accountant General with the Financial Statements for the fiscal years ended 31st
December since then. These are public documents.

Intafact Beverages was subsequently consolidated into International Breweries Plc when the parent company, SABMiller of South Africa was acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), the world's largest brewer. Based on this development, AB InBev
consolidated and merged all its brewery operations in Nigeria under International Breweries Plc and all shareholders of Intafact Beverages Limited, including Anambra State Government (ANSG), received shares of
International Breweries Plc for their respective investments.

ANSG received and still holds 407,321,264 ordinary shares of International Breweries Plc in exchange for its investment in Intafact Beverages Limited . Based on the NGX closing price of N5.50 as at 20/6/22, these shares were valued at N2,240,266,952 on
that date. Based on the Central Bank of Nigeria I&E exchange rate of N415.75/US$1.00 on same June 20, 2022, this investment was valued at an equivalent of approximately US$5,388,495.37 (and at N604/$1.00 parallel market rate, only US$3,709,051.24).

We do not want to join issues with the purveyors of the fake news but only need to state the facts to inform the public.

Thank you.
Ifeatu Onejeme
Commissioner of Finance

Obi's massive popularity will neither be enhanced nor diminished by all these minutiae because it's not based on any of these.
His popularity is because of his words, behavior, and general comportment over the years. For anything to affect that popularity it has to be something NEW AND MASSIVE, not all these minutiae from 40 years ago!
Plus, he did leave N75B while all other govs left loans and debts!

Obi speaking - note the down-to-earth absence of egotism, unlike most of our celebrities:

At least, it is better than those using our resources to buy houses in foreign countries, partying or vacationing.

And we never hear that any successive Anambra state government indicted him of any fraud while in office. Obi is better than former governors who are drawing salaries from state treasuries, buildings and medicals.

Truth is that both the marketing and demarketing is growing his popularity fast fast.

It's a plus to the campaign
Reno, sowore, etc using their platforms to preach PO is doing him good.

Unfortunately no one is talking about Apc or Pdp or even the present government.

So basically the value of the money increased in naira. Just that the naira has been dumping due to APC. This devaluation is happening to every other person who took a chance and invested in Nigeria, thats why we must fight out this EVIL APC party. Imagine the amount of Jobs created in Nigeria as a matter of such huge investment from the governor. We are happy the money was not stolen but rather it was invested.

Matthew 16:18 ...And God told Peter you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and on this rock, I will build my church and all the powers of hell will not conquer it....

This was a Prophecy that was written thousands of years ago, and its starting to look like it was meant for Nigeria. We have defied all odds to continue to remain The Largest Black economy, We are the Largest Black Population since time immemorial. This country was destined to be Great. If we get it right in Nigeria, Africa at large will get it right.

Close your eyes and feel it. The Prophecy is about to be fulfilled, Get ready, Peter is coming!!!

No sane person can proudly campaign for Tinubu because we already know his story.

The problem with most Nigerians is that they are deeply attached to their tribe and religion.

Regrettably, they prefer those affiliations over competence.

Everyone is just trying to shade him.

Re: Ifeanyi Onejeme Debunks Fake News About Peter Obi's Investment In SABMiller by Freethinker87: 5:28am On Jun 22, 2022
Let's dive right into the facts.

* Peter Obi invested N1,955,535,247.00 in SABMiller, now INTBREW (In Naira, not USD)
* Anambra currently owns 4.7% of International Breweries.
* As of 6AM, 22/06/2022 INTBREW is valued at N155.771B
* Anambra's 4.7% stake is currently valued at N7.32B (Not N2.3B)
* Anambra's stake in INTBREW is up by 374%

...but somehow the political science and mass comm graduates at TheCableNG want me to believe that Anambra took a heavy loss from this investment. So if I bought a piece of land for N500,000 in 2012 and sold it for N1.87M in 2022, I'm trading at a loss.

It's not Obi's fault that Buharinomics crashed the Naira. Hold APC responsible for that.

I have come to realized that there are millions of Muguns/Mumus in this country and that’s why politicians are just taking us for granted. All these”I have one shoe, enter economy flight, don’t waste money are all formats.
The Saint OBI claimed he invested $20m and that as at today has gained interests to $100m ,how come the state government is contradicting that statement?Nigerians, shine your eyes and make God not let us miss Buhari

Una use 155 naira to dollar calculate the investment, come use 415 take convert am back.

Whose failure is that?

Why una no keep the values in naira? clever than half.

@PeterObi buys dollars (about N1.8 B) at 150 naira and invests in a company. The company lists in Nigerian stock exchange and awards equivalent stock (407,321,264) in Naira which appreciates to about N50/share (about N20B) before falling to N5 (about 2B) due to Covid and Buharinomics.
This is still a gain even without the dividends, but the jobbers at @thecableng decide to convert the current value with N415 to a dollar and compare with the former value at N150 dollar. #GoAndVerify #PeterObi4President #OBIdient2023 #OBIdient #OBIdients

This same thing was posted yesterday as an investigation from Thecable.

https://www.nairaland.com/7189779/peter-obis-12.24m-investment-breweries

I don't know how Anambra commissioner pulled something online and signed it.
First I think we should verify the source of the news, now let's assume it's authentic, a lot of people who read that will fail to understand that the investment made profit considerably, excluding the dividends the must have gotten over the years, the value of the shares has grown from 1.9B to about 2.2B.

Get it, the investment was made in naira, now the exchange rate of dollar made it less than the invested amount, who do you blame for that? Who's accountable for a country's economy?

Imagine power falling into the hands of Tinubu at this critical point of our country, are we not finished?

The country right now is terrible we do not want it to get to a point of no return.

Just the name Peter Obi alone as the president of Nigeria and dollar will be humbled. grin

Vote wisely.
Don't vote for people who sacrificed a whole church and used 30-50 of his people for ritual purpose just to win primaries, I just hope and pray that he doesn't sacrifice more of his people to win this presidential election

Dividends paid over the years, if any

Tax paid since the company was set up in Anambra in 2012

There is definitely something. He's an exceptional individual. And in all of this, he has not responded to nor criticised or spoken ill of anyone.

But they should not let him rest, since Truth does not need to defend itself. All of the bad and energy and negative publicity are only serving to push him to the masses and for them to go verify all they're reading about him, so thanks to them for doing a portion of our job.
