Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has come under heavy criticism for spraying money at residents of his states, while he was being driven in a convoy through a cheering crowd.

Bala Mohammed during the weekend caused a chaotic scene during his visit to Azare town where threw money at residents.

The Governor who was being hailed by the crowd stood up through the open roof of his SUV and sprayed naira at a happy crowd. This act is actually against the Nigerian law

Section 21 (3,4,5) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act 2007 clearly prohibits any form of abuse of the Nigerian currency.

The Act prescribes “imprisonment for a term not less than six months or to a fine not less than N50,000 or to both such fine and imprisonment for anyone guilty of spraying of, dancing or matching on the Naira or any note issued by the Bank during social occasions.

No one asks serious questions and forces incumbent executives to run the finances of the state/country based on the dictates of the law.

A governor in Nigeria can wake up and ask his finance commissioner to release money for cars to all his girlfriends! And it will be done. A president can order the Central Bank head to truck down wads of cas to his mansion, and that will be done too... The EFCC will be aware of all these, but will be busy allowing evil to thrive because of the socalled power of the incumbents.

There should be a constitutional review to detach the finances of the state from the evil whimsical spendings of totally corrupt executives. The governors and the president should be made to account to an independent body for the governments money they spend.
