Section 21 (3,4,5) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act 2007 clearly prohibits any form of abuse of the Nigerian currency.

The Act prescribes “imprisonment for a term not less than six months or to a fine not less than N50,000 or to both such fine and imprisonment for anyone guilty of spraying of, dancing or matching on the Naira or any note issued by the Bank during social occasions.

This is a despicable and condemnable act. Our empowerment programme is very wrong. How will spraying money from the SUV solve a deep-rooted economy problem or reduce poverty. To help people, our politicians should cultivate the idea of acquiring simple mechanised farming equipment for communities so they can increase output but putting more hectares into cultivation. These equivalents are relatively cheap but trust the corrupt system we operate here, the prices would be overinvoiced! We need empowerment that makes sense not showmanship
