The information supplied is not complete.

But, then Every Sin, once confessed and repenting, the Lord forgives Us and deliver us from the ultimate consequence of Sin (Death).

However, some effect of it may hurt us for a Longtime but the consolation is Our Father have forgiven Us and we can "Cry Abba Father" so irrespective of the situation just call on Him and His Gracious Mercy speaks.

Confess, seek forgiveness and repent.

Free your mind to reconcile with yourself, God and the victims of your haunting past.

If you are really sure that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour and you are serving him faithfully, then you have nothing to fear "for who the son of man has set free, he is free indeed" and "Old things has passed away and all things has become new". When ever the devil reminds you of your past, remind him that Jesus has forgiven you and you are free indeed. simple. Don't allow the devil to intimidate you with fear of your past.

Before it starts haunting you, go through the path of restitution.

first step to repentance is to accept your guilt and make restitution. have you done that ? believe me, if you have done this. whenever the devil remind you of your sin. you'll tell him, you've been forgiven.

I think it's only guilt you're suffering from.
It can be normal for one to feel this way sometimes.
We either guilt trip ourselves or the devil whisper railing accusations to our minds trying to condemn us.
In all, the endpoint is condemnation.
Glory to God, if we have received God's forgiveness through Christ, we have been saved from every form of condemnation. Either from ourselves or the devil.

When our past tries to come into the fray, we shut it down by thinking and speaking to ourselves about the goodness of God in our lives.

The devil is cunning, or should I say, guilt only leads to one not fully walking in the life we have received from Christ.

Again, when that feeling comes, just be thankful for God's goodness which has led you to a new life.

Remember the prodigal son??
The Father had forgiven him and waiting for him to come back. That's why when he saw him from afar, he ran to him and did not wait till he got closer.
God has forgiven you your sins already, no matter what they are, you only owe it to God to live to the fullest the life that He has now bestowed on you. Start by being grateful for the life instead of feeling guilty.

The subject Forgiveness is very deep and puts a serious responsibilities on the defaulter, such as sobriety, restitution and damages above all repercussions yet under the condition of conscious obligated effort to avoid repetition or any similar occurrence also being an advocate against such.
There are also some offence that are brutal and carry corresponding karma for instance going against Godly natural norms or law.
Example doing thing that scattered a peaceful and loving people or community.
Putting an entire compound in darkness intensionally.
Breaking certain rule for your selfish gain.
The Bible says ' Do not take away the ancient land mark which your father have set.
@ OP you need a great teacher of God words yet you can study for yourself with the help of the holy spirit.
The Blood of Jesus shall perfect you.
Remember work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
Peace.

Galatians 6:7

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.

This is the word of God bro.

There will be forgiveness from God.
But you will still reap whatever you have sowed. Let no pastor decieve you that God will not punish you for your sins simply because you are a born again Christian...

Our God is a God of Justice and not a God of partiality.

Take King David of Israel as an example, King DAVID killed Uriah a loyal soldier and took over his wife.

God forgave King David after making atonement for his sin.

But God punished serverly for for his sin..
God did indeed punish David, and He did so threefold.
David would never again have peace in his house, he would be publicly shamed for his private sin, and, at the apex, his son would die. Nathan outlined the three judgments:

“‘Now, therefore, the sword will never depart from your house, because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own.’

This is what the Lord says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight. You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel. . . .

The Lord has taken away your sin.

You are not going to die.

But because by doing this you have shown utter contempt for the Lord, the son born to you will die’” (2 Samuel 12:10–14).

Why all this plenty story? The Bible clearly teaches that whatsoever you sow, good or evil, Christian or not, you REAP, same as islam and even nature teaches the same!

deekseen:

Given your previous example, I would say you're mixing things up. Are you trying to say even when one becomes born again he'll suffer for the wrong he did when he was a sinner?

Then your example of David didn't even help because he was already walking with God when he committed murder. Despite the murder, God still called him His friend. God didn't kill him like your initial statement sounded (that you'll get whatever you did).

Now, my example of Saul of Tarsus: Saul's blindness was as a result of his encounter with Christ. Even if you still say he was made blind because of his atrocities, at that point he was not born again. Everything he suffered from the point he received his sight was for the gospel and not because of his past life. Again, God didn't kill him for killing Christians.

Please, stop mixing things up. The bible encourages us to help build the faith of our brothers when they're weak not to put the spirit of fear in them.

Modified:

Even though the Bible says:
Galatians 6:7 (KJV) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

The Bible also says:
Hosea 10:12 (KJV) Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

You have a better chance of obtaining God's mercy when you walk with Him than when you walk in the way of the world.

@Redomi, this modified part above is my point. There's a difference between Knowing Bible stories, Reading the Bible and studying the Bible. 3 different levels.

Your past haunting you?

The question is, are you NOW born again?

As far as God is concerned, if you are NOW in Christ, you are a NEW Creature AND all your past offences against God are WRITTEN OFF.

2Cor 5:17:
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

Unfortunately, the other part of the truth is that even though your Spirit is RENEWED in God, the physical consequences may remain. In this case, a Christian will take up his punishment JOYFULLY and move on.

Your Spirit is the most important part of you. Renew your Soul by the Word of God. If you have to pay for your PAST, so be it.

This is not always true...the below quote explains better.

If you're born again then you're no longer a slave to sin (or your past life). Romans 6.
If your repentance is genuine then you have a new life in Christ. 2Cor 5:17. Live this new life by the word of God and the teachings of Christ and His disciples (study the epistles and the other books that teach more about Christian values).

Partner with and be filled with the Holy Spirit. The more of the Spirit in you, the less likely you'll think of your past life and be troubled. The more fulfilling you'll be as a Christian.

please stop misleading people about God.

Galatians 6:7

This is the word of God bro.

if you're genuinely born again and not just a Christian by mouth, your past cannot haunt you.

2 Cor 5:17

Take Apostle Paul as example. He referred himself as the greatest sinner, before Christ saved him, in 1 Tim. 1:15 but if you go to 2 Cor 11:5, 12:11, the same man o, saying he wasn't inferior to the chief of Apostle, why, because he had been saved. His past couldn't haunt him.
So, as you grow in Christ, Grace abounds for you.

If you are sorry; all you have to do is repent and ask for forgiveness. You will be forgiven.

God loves us so much that while we were sinners, he sent his only begotten Son to lay down his life in our place.

Also be grateful to God, and show his mercy to others who have wronged you, remember the parable of the unforgiving servant.

Those who are really sorry for their wrongs are the ones God uses the most, because they see greater mercy.

Since God is fair, he will forgive you and shows mercies to those who show mercy.

Re: As a Christian How Will You Handle This by mecuzee(m): 5:06pm On Oct 23, 2022
You should be happy you feel this way, it's a proof of the new life you've received.

Romans 6:20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 21What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now (guilty) ASHAMED? for the end of those things is death. 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

My brother God loves you irrespective of what you did.
The Bible says in 1st John chapter 1 verse 8-10 says:

"[8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves,
and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is
faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not
sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

The mercy of God would see you through, the mercy of God would override every judgement in your life, only ask God for forgiveness and help, The bible says if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us.
Make up your mind not to go back to sin and God would see you through, refuse to give the devil a foothold to make you feel Guilty, God has forgiven you. Join a bible believing church and be committed there with the brethren, it is well with you.
Warm greetings,
Shallom!

Sir, but then, the story of the prodigal son comes to mind, Peter and Paul comes to mind, they sinned yet they were forgiven, are you saying these ones suffered the consequences of their sins??

Hebrews 8:10-12

I think the forgiveness of sin is underrated.
If God remembers not their sins again, how then will he remember to give them consequences. Isn't that inconsistent?
Yes, there are some actions that can bring consequences but even that, God seeks save us from the consequences. Is it not the consequences of sin God has saved us from in the first place through Jesus.

John 3:17-18

I strongly believe God did not just save us from living in sin but from the consequences of sin.
