Could this be the reason teachers are such poor sods in this country? Even with their monkey pay, how many school teachers fit try this stunt grin

Duro4chang, see coyones o grin
Yes. Teachers can do that too. Some teachers have done it. Though not all teachers and even doctors can do it. It is easier for teachers to do such thing than for doctors. Since the salary you are earnings is so meagre if you leave within some days you get another job. Doctors may not want to leave because of some benefits and salaries. But do you notice that currently many schools are looking for teachers in Lagos State. The reason us that people are leaving the job

Arrant nonsense! soldiers go,soldiers come, barracks remained. Why should you make such statement to your boss even when he was yet to make comments. Could it be that your boss is tough type.? It could also indicate you're a lazy type too.

Stop blabbing. The reason the doctor has that level of confidence is that even if the MD sacks him today, he will start a new work tomorrow (with even better pay). Many hospitals are in dire need of Doctors.
if d doctor starts a new job tommorow with even better pay n he dares threaten his new MD, he wil stil be fired again. Is not all about the money one has , there is something called character it can take u places where u never imagined

Such workplace violence and abuse can only be domiciled in Nigeria. This is one area I will always respect DIASPORA.
In fact, ur MD or employer greets u everyday like his life is completely dependent on yours
I agree, during my studentship / studies in North America, l was working at an Ngo, the CEO arrived one Saturday morning and asked me if l want coffee, l said yes, he went to Tim Hortons to get me a cup of coffee and brought it to me, l was shocked, for a whole CEO of an organization to do such a favor to me cheesy

Do you know the patient/doctor ratio in UK hospitals? It could be 15 patients to a doctor in a day while in Nigeria, 500 patients may be waiting to see a single doctor and the number keeps adding up. No limit. Now tell me, which one is slavery coupled with poor remuneration? UK or Nigeria
Even if your ratio comparison is true,that1 doctor seeing 15 patients in UK is more overworked than the Nigerian doctor seeing 500 patients.
The reason is that abroad, asides maybe paracetamol, for any health issue you have, you must see a doctor to get a prescription to get any drug or treatment, even if it's just headache of more than a few hours or a small bruise you sustained that may just need cleaning.
But here you can go to any chemist shop and get drugs as strong as an antibiotic.
You can go to one nurse Elizabeth you know to come give u injections and even run a drip.If that fails, you can even try your native babalawo to mix some concoction for you.
So only the cases that persist after trying these or the very serious ones from the outset see a doctor here.
That is why you will hear stories of someone that sustained a minor wound or a even a headache sometimes having to wait up to 2 weeks or more abroad to see a doctor because they are overbooked with all manner of cases and you can't just go to a chemist shop to get 99.9% of drugs without a doctor's note.

What if that doctor is a consultant? Please stop blabbing. Doctors are stretched thin. The ones who stay back are doing so because they care.

it depends on how he talks and shapes his mouth t me, which one is "if u talk anyhow I would resign" alaye, is that a blackmail ni, is obvious d MD and d doctor has a relationship that trescends d work they do,, be like say d MD is a female or a family relation or a colleague before, or they knw each other well, otherwise, u won resign, UnCloth out of d hospital assets at d reception and u would be escorted out of d building ti ba ni werey, u don't talk to ur superior in that manner

I quite understand how you feel and honestly while the employer can choose to relieve him of his duties, he can’t stop him from securing another placement which could happen that same evening.

One question we should ask is why people always want to jump the queue because they know those at the top. Your not more important than those before you and must wait your turn except of course in emergencies.

What the woman did was bad but him coming online is worst. Unnecessarily and unprofessional. Nobody will like such an idiot either here or anywhere.

Is the MD God? Can't they be challenged? Can't you speak up against your boss? Until we remove this God complex from directors and CEO, Nigeria can't move away from the toxic employer-employee relationship.

The message was even clear, someone is trying to jump queue because she knows the MD, doctor did not allow she called MD for what? And here you are castigating the doctor for standing for what's right even at the point of losing his job.

Abroad you dare not shout on a doctor to attend to u when it is not your turn. Security will simply put u in ur place. You dare not call MD because he is ur friend to order a doctor to bypass protocol. That MD will call security on you instead. Nigeria may never be a human society with law and order because empty people like u, with this kind thinking are majority.

And you wonder why Nigeria has a toxic work environment. People commenting like they have Stockholm, viewing their bosses as a God you dare not talk against and Worship all his wishes even if he's clearly in the wrong.

Well na poverty and unemployment cause am I no blame them....

Not lack of funds. There is no medical doctor that lack funds to leave Nigeria. Each and every medical doctor you see in Nigeria is working on his escape plans. He is going through the process one after the other.

With all these cases you highlighted here. That still doesn’t change an average of 15 patients to a doctor per day. Hundreds of thousands of doctors are over there in the UK of total population of about 70 million compared to few doctors in Nigeria with population of almost 300 million.

If you need to see a doctor in the UK without an appointment, then you need to go to ER. It same day service. If your case if common cold or headache that’s not life threatening , then you need an appointment. That’s why you can wait for days before it’s your turn to see a doctor. But if you think you can’t wait with your headache because you need to see a doctor immediately, the. ER is open for you. It’s just more expensive but you will see a doctor immediately.

The fact that people actually support this guy who didn't even allow his boss to talk just because of the situation of things in the country shows that we are all the problem and not just the leaders. Your boss got a complaint and called you to find out what was the issue, and this was how you reacted to thr call? How is this okay? So he shouldn't have called? Why abuse your privilege and even come online to proudly tell this story of your arrogance? I pity your patients. These are the kind of doctors Nigeria is left with.
